Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
Norbold Ernessaeia (Sylvanian Elf Cleric): Scale Mail AC 6 : Hit Points 6 / 6:
Norbold says, "Uhmm, yea, as Korin said, unwise we get to see Korin's fearsome boot in action.",
"So there's a spider in a corner, Thorelf? Is it a big one that we'd need to talk to or should I use it just to get any information out of it regardless?"

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
"There are...quite a few of them. And they're about the same size as Phoenix." Thorelf looks Phoenix's way. "Meaning no disrespect." Turns back to Norbold "So maybe, try talking to them? Do we have anything to offer for safe passage? Some meat? I have some dry venison in my saddlebags."

Norbold Ernessaeia (Sylvanian Elf Cleric): Scale Mail AC 6 : Hit Points 6 / 6:
Norbold says, "Use it I lose it. To bad I don't get to copy it down."
Norbold reads from the scroll, which sounds like a prayer to enable one to speak to arachnids.
He calls out to the spiders before entering the area, "Excuse us dear Spiders, sorry we torched your home, but we had to be cautious for our safety."
"Will you let us pass through here? Perhaps we can do a service for you or give you something you all desire?"

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
If the current marching order is:
--->Norbold-->Phoenix (w. candle) -->Korin (w. torch)-->Ox-->Thorelf (w. torch)
then Norbold readies himself at the farthest back position. He takes the plunge and starts reading from the unfamilar scroll - but his fears about curses seem to be unfounded - nothing dangerous apppears to happen, as he voices the mystic incantation. When Norbold then proceeds to greet the supposed spiders (which are not visible to him, as the location Thorelf points to is up on the ceiling of a chamber 10' ahead):
"Tttt tnn-ttt. Ch-kn-knttt. Tk-tk."
And the reply to Norbold's request:

a wispy, fragmented phrase can faintly be heard from somewhere within the chamber, which, to all of the group (except possibly Norbold), sounds like:"Excuse us dear Spiders, sorry we torched your home, but we had to be cautious for our safety."
"Tttt tnn-ttt. Ch-kn-knttt. Tk-tk."
And the reply to Norbold's request:
brings forth another quiet rasp: "Kzzt t-t--kn-z tk-tk. Kttt"."Will you let us pass through here? Perhaps we can do a service for you or give you something you all desire?"

Norbold Ernessaeia (Sylvanian Elf Cleric): Scale Mail AC 6 : Hit Points 6 / 6:
Norbold moves past everyone and into the space where the spiders are, while looking in the direction pointed out by Thorelf.
Norbold says to the spiders, "I am Norbold Ernessaeia, Sylvanian Elf Cleric of Rillifane Rallathil, The Leaf Lord, we wish passage through here, as we are investigating claims of weird goings on, in this area.", "I am sorry we have torched your home, but we did so on the side of caution so as to not be attacked or victims of a trap.", "I need to know the type of food you so desire thus, for us to pass through here unhindered.", "Also, if you can tell us, of whom occupies this mound, and what you have seen them doing, it would be helpful."

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
Phoenix cowers in the back, shaking. ”Always spiders, never a puppy or a kitten or even a cockroach. I hope these eight legged nightmares are not hungry!” he thinks quietly to himself, keeping silent.
Greys Campaign.

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
Norbold, up front alongside Thorelf, peers out- and upwards into the chamber, clearly flinches a bit, then directs his voice upwards:
"Fttt-t.... z-k t-t-t...cht. T-t-t.... Z-t kt."
The group inside the passage gets jittery: suggestions of immediate attack and scared outbursts are mixed with pleas for calm.
Thorelf then retreats into the passage, with torch, leaving Norbold to squint up into complete darkness, waiting for a reply. Finally, an unearthly, whispering voice crackles, dragging out each sound, sounding so much like crumbling cinders:"I am Norbold Ernessaeia, Sylvanian (etc as stated above)

Norbold Ernessaeia (Sylvanian Elf Cleric): Scale Mail AC 6 : Hit Points 6 / 6:
Norbold repeats basically what one of the spiders says,
"Ok, One spider said, No fire, Warm animal, We live here. Give warm animal ? No fire. Then you pass.",
"I guess no one has been through here for a long while, also based on the fact their webbing covered most of the passage."
