Chapter 02: Out and about
Chapter 02: Out and about
After a good night's sleep, dreaming of rivers, warships and lizard-headed wizards, the adventurers awake up to a lovely crispy morning. For the first time in months, there's almost a hint of mist in the air - or so it seems. What little grass there is, feels slightly damp to the touch. Is the torrid spell that's plagued Slowcroft and surroundings for so long, now perhaps over ?
Completely refreshed, the three friends will have no problem in locating each other before setting off. After all, you're neighbours!
But Melkior is nowhere to be seen. Where did he spend last night ? The friends speculate. Did Brynn's feisty, mature charm maybe have something to do with it.....?

Korin up to his usual heads to the tavern and ponders where the new knightly fellow went off to.

Norbold and Korin meet up outside the pub - which isn't open yet, this early in the morning.
Your horses (that all of you usually keep in the stables next to the pub) are all groomed, fed and ready for the ride out.

Re: Chapter 02: Out and about
Or....Peg has gone rabid with jealousy over Brynn snaring that new hot young paladin. Intra-village intrigue!!
As the friends mount their horses and trot off towards the perimeters of Slowcroft, Korin looks longingly over his shoulder at the pub and sighs over missing that 2nd breakfast he was just about to enjoy. Ah well.
Ox' eyes dart around, scanning for any angry Pegs emerging, while Norbold comes running with his gathered gear, jumps on his horse and catches up with the others.
It's a fine morning for a ride out into the countryside. They're off!

Re: Chapter 02: Out and about
The friends set off on horseback out into the barren land, heading towards the area where River Mush used to flow.
Korin's trusted waterskin is filled to the hilt and looks as sturdy as ever, as does the blade of his axe, shining in the morning sun.
In his pocket, Norbold finds an extra copper coin he'd forgotten.
After an hour or so, Ox spots a dust cloud and movement to the south.

Korin still silently wonders what happened to the knight from the far off land that roamed into the tavern...

Re: Chapter 02: Out and about
It is, indeed, a pack of wild horses scampering across the dry open land. The critters give the group a wide berth and continue to gallop northwards, and soon disappear in the haze.
It looks safe to continue.....

Norbold can be heard laughing, as he comes out from behind the object he took cover behind and goes through the airborne dust, kicked up by the wild horses.
Says, "Ox, my dear fellow, these birds appear to have been flightless peguasi.", "Perhaps, we can have a look at what may have startled the herd to stampede."

Korin "Aye perhaps, we could. Afterward we might take a look and see why Ox needs a spyglass so he can tell the difference from a horse and a bird. How about we stick ta what we came out here for first eh? " the dwarf sounds a bit grumpier than usual. "Mind it's bad enough we dun have Jacob, we already dun lost the new fella back in town. Can't we focus an figure out this lizardman thing first lads?"
