Chapter 3 (GreyWolfVT, sulldawga)

Have at it!
Even a child that receives one bit of praise has the ability to excel in a single talent, and those who receive regular encouragement can feel confidence, achieve success, and become leading members of society. Zeke looks behind him more than a couple of times to make sure the raiders aren't following them to the Docks.

He yells over to Seven, once they're out of earshot of the gate guards, We're gonna have to take extra care to hide our bikes so we can get out of here quickly if need be. And we should keep our eyes open for an alternate exit... or a rocket launcher in case we need to make one.

Indeed. As the two look for areas to hide their bikes, Seven finds the better of the choices. A short walk from the port town reveals a cliffside hugging the edge of the sea. The cliffside is narrow and there is a steep drop into the sea's ferocious waves, but if you tread your path carefully, and snake your way around the cliff's edge, you will find a strip of land that connects to a natural cave system. Judging by the lack of trash and debris in the area, no one goes here often, or might not even know of this precarious location.

Seven once parked in the cave opens a saddle bag and pulls out a sandy colored canvas tarp along with all his weapons and covers his bike. "Well where to now Zeke?"

Zeke

Well, we could try the direct route. Throw some caps around and say we're looking for a guy who knows how to mix chems. Or we could just lay low, ask around on who's recently showed up in town and hope someone describes our guy. I don't know which option will work, or which will draw unwanted attention to us.

Seven follows Zeke saying little and staying for the most part out of other folks way.

The Southern Docks is a haven for many different walks of life. Ex-raiders, raiders, settlers looking for a new place to call home, drifters, traders, sea caravans, sea raiders (pirates), outcasts, Children of Atom and those who simply need to hide for one reason or another. Ghouls can be found intermixed in the crowd, the civilized kind. And among the crowds, you also spot some well-dressed folk as well, sporting suits and submachine guns.

The boardwalk creaks and moans with every step you take. The sounds of the nearby ocean/sea crashing onto the beachside and cliffs mingle in with the activities of the locals. You have fishermen hawking their wares, you have street gamblers looking to swindle people of their caps, then you have the rowdy packs of thugs and seem to just look for a reason to pick a fight with, well, anyone really. The local port is currently busy with men carrying large crates from ships made of rusted metal scraps and sturdy woods. And the mutated seagulls sing a chorus of their own as they circle the flapping flags of ships and store signs.

Eventually, you find your way to a tavern called The Last Plank. It sounds like a lively bunch of people are inside right now.

All the folks inside look interesting. You have a group of people playing a strange game of old maid and dice, another is playing drunk darts. You have the few solitary individuals leaning against wooden posts, arms crossed and mainly keeping to themselves. Some people are actually sitting down and eating something. Your not quite sure what it is at a glance, but you think it might be mirelurk. Nothing really stands out and strikes Zeke's curiosity as he scans the room.

Zeke calls for a server and orders a drink, whatever seems least likely to poison him.

He quietly talks with Seven.

Let's see if anyone approaches us. If not, we can start asking around to see what the word is.

Seven strolls over to the bar with Zeke and orders similar something alcoholic but least likely to poison or irradiate him. "Good idea." he replies then digs out a old deck of playing cards and begins playing solitaire on the bar.

Someone does eventually approach Zeke and Seven. Backs turned to the entrance, you don't get a good look at the fellow until he decides to sit next to Seven, tipping his yellow hat. "Fancy meeting you two in a place like this."

It's the ghoul in the yellow trenchcoat, the one who inquired about the missing boy and appeared at the raider camp to provide additional sniper cover.

Seven tips his hat to the ghoul "I had a feeling our paths would cross again. I'd say we owe you one for that extra cover you gave us, when we were rescuing the docs boy." he says while still playing his solitaire game.

Zeke says, The question is, were you interested in saving the doc and his boy, or are you the reason why they're here?
