Chauncey, his example set, retreats calmly back to the beginning of the trail. At the disconcerting words from their unseen guest, he removes his hat, letting Mr. Wrenly out to scurry up into the foilage above, then sets his pack down and discreetly rummages through it.

Re: Quest #23 "Even The Jungle Wanted Them Dead"
Seeking Out The Jungle Priest
Starday, the 13th of Goodmonth
Late Morning, Misty, Hot, Buggy
Wes moves effortlessly through the thick jungle again, backtracking around to get behind the next wave of undead. Chauncey allows Mr. Wrenly a stretch as he backs away from the trouble again, searching through his pack for something. Brother Gilbert prepares to heal the wounded, if they will ever stop fighting long enough for him to do so.
Avaala continues following and conversing with the unseen woman as she moves from one downed zombie to the next. "My interest in working for him waned considerably once I found out he had some other bitch doing his dirty work for him now. I wont accompany you back there, but I am happy to tell you everything you need to know about that frickin creep." The voice moves over to the area where the first few zombies fell. The mage espies more invisible rummaging there.
Monocar and Jaxsen ready themselves at the edge of the druids circle of dancing flowers and wait for the next onslaught of monsters to arrive. Galanthas and Luther are a bit more proactive as they continue firing at the stuck skeletons, dropping the next one in line with three more of the elf's prescious arrows. Only 3 of their initial number remain and Wes knows that his entangling magic in that area is about to run its course.

Would you like to just hold Jax' attack rolls (and, presumably, Monocar's also) until they actually get to use them?

Avaala the Grey
Avaala, still careful not to interrupt something important, merely answers, "Thank you. We appreciate any help." He continues to follow any signs of rummaging or movement, in order to stay close to the voice.

Sure. Unless you want to take a different action in the meantime.SirOwen wrote:Would you like to just hold Jax' attack rolls (and, presumably, Monocar's also) until they actually get to use them?

Jaxsen Reiter
Jaxsen is willing to wait until the skeletons free themselves and approach, but will follow Monocar's lead in this matter.

Wes
Wes crouches in the undergrowth and grips the club he keeps as a back-up weapon. As soon as the last skeleton goes by him, he'll pop up and throw the club at it's rear.
Club (THAC0 18) [1d20] = 1; S/M [1d6] = 6; L [1d3] = 2
Hey Galanthas! Remember that arrow you got me with? It's payback time!

"Hey, thanks Wes! So timely. Don't have many arrows remaining."
The elf fires two more arrows at the Skeletons in the line.

Short bow - To hit: [1d20+1] = 8+1 = 9 (elf); Dmg medium/large: [1d6] = 3

Knowing their arrows aren't normally the best weapon to use against such monsters, the fighters continue firing at the held skeletons anyway, while they still can. The next one in line falls as the druids spell suddenly ends, releasing the final pair to continue towards their foe.
Monocar and Jaxsen take down the first oncoming threat, leaving the second open to counterattack, which it does, scratching the big fighter slightly with its rusty blade. 3 dam Wes tries throwing a club that hits a low hanging branch instead while Luther and Galanthas back away slightly to draw their melee weapons.
The unseen woman speaking with Avaala starts to sort through the items found on the first 2 zombies killed. When she comes across the nice monogramed leather backpack, she exclaims out loud. "Well this is interesting. It looks like ol' creepy was really trying to send a message, huh?"

One final skeleton remains.

“Let’s have a look at that pouch, shall we?” says Chauncey, moving towards the voice and the zombie. He seems to have all but forgotten about the remaining skeletons behind him. “Is there and anything inside? What do you make of it? Who did it belong to? Anyone we know?”

Re: Quest #23 "Even The Jungle Wanted Them Dead"
Galanthas backs up a bit, trying not be injured but the skeleton, but if his companions dispose off of it (what looks likely) he'll retrieve his arrows and, when he's done, he offers four of them to Luther to add to the (two?) he has remaining: "In case you need these before we get back to Beachtown. Back I want them back!" He adds at the end, slightly smiling.

LOL... Just in case Monocar and Wes didn't bring it down....
Jax, continuing to use Monocar's bulk as cover, lashes out at the last skeleton as well.
Jaxsen w/ Halberd to hit [1d20] = 8

Avaala the Grey
Avaala leans in as the woman opens the pack. "Indeed. And I find that monogram a bit disconcerting." With a sudden twinge, Avaala turns and looks at the zombie that was carrying the pack. Does that zombie look at all familiar? He then points to the pack and continues. "Well, shall we see what he wants to tell us?"

Luther
Luther hangs back, keeping a wary eye on the zombie.
I'll make sure you get them back. I'm planning on making more when we get back to the village- I'll make some for you, too.

Seeking Out The Jungle Priest
Starday, the 13th of Goodmonth
Late Morning, Misty, Hot, Buggy
Wes and Monocar easily take down the final threat, smashing the old decrepit bones of the last skeleton into dust. The druid begins collecting his gear that is spread out over the area. Galanthas also collects what he can find of his arrows, somehow always coming up with exactly half of the amount that he fired. Luther keeps guard as they discuss making more of the missiles once they get back to camp.
Brother Gilbert joins Chauncey and Avaala again where the first bodies fell. The mystery woman suddenly reappears holding the pack monogrammed with the N. She nods, smiling at Chauncey, who she hasn't had the pleasure of meeting yet.
She hands the pinned note to Avaala and opens the flap. Avaala looks at the zombie on the ground a little closer, glad that he doesn't recognize the thing. They all gasp when the woman pulls out the contents of the pack by its hair. It is a badly decayed human head, and this one does appear to look a little bit like Nehru might in this condition. The woman quickly drops the severed head on the ground in disgust. "By the gods that bastard is SO creepy!"

After seeing Nehru's severed head... has to go to the bushes and throw up a little. For all the gruesome things he himself has done, apparently seeing someone he has worked with and maybe even considered a friend triggered a different kind of response.
HUUURUUUUH Huuuu.... Urrruuuuuuh.... G'oooan..... Oh gods.... What... what they hell did they do to him? Huhh...*
