Littbarsky

spear melee vs orc [1d20+1] = 8+1 = 9 damage [1d6+1] = 5+1 = 6

Raises his shield and a war cry, he rushes to stab one of the orcs sheltering by the barrels, missing the orc and penetrating the barrel instead. hope it is no beer leaking out? such a waste, all this fighting is building up a right thirst.

Sorry, been caught out the past few days doing some unexpected home renovations. Without infravision, Lardo can only scout ahead so far underground — only to the fringes of the party's light source.

While his companions deal with the two orcs in the storeroom, Lardo keeps a furtive eye on the party's back, fearing the fled orcs will bring reinforcements to track them down.
Failure is always an option.

Geert looks for an opening and looses an arrow at the orcs.

Short bow to hit/damage: [1d20+3] = 1+3 = 4; [1d6] = 1 That's the dice roller I remember!

Eglistrum Paharis

The mage reacts to the sight of Orcs ahead by pulling a dagger from the bandolier on his chest and flinging it at the enemy in one smooth motion.

Initiative for monsters: [1d6] = 6
Initiative for party: [1d6] = 5

(Note that the orcs have partial cover due to their barricade, giving them a 2 point bonus to AC)

The party readies their various missiles, but the orcs make good use of their ambush and hurl their spears first...but they hurry too much, and their spears do not fly true. The party's response is swift; Littbarsky and Cormac charge, while some of the group sling stones and loose arrows over the dwarf's head. A stone from Aron strikes one orc in the face, breaking his nose (4 damage). This elicits a string of orcish curses, but only until a similar stone from Ampersand the Many-Named cracks into his forehead, sending him sprawling backward (2 damage, kill). Eglistrum flings a dagger which thunks into the barrel in front of one of the orcs (miss due to cover), while Geert's arrow sails into the room past the combatants, swallowed by the darkness. Littbarsky's thrust skewers only air; Cormac swings his axe, but the orc dodges backward and the blow splinters a crate instead. Snatching up another spear, the orc raises his shield and braces himself for melee.

Rolls: Further missile attacks will be considerered "firing into". If Cormac and/or Littbarsky wish to melee with the orc, they will need to climb over the barricade; this will be their action for the round, and will cause them to lose Dex/shield bonuses.

Littbarsky

he has a spear so will attempt to stab through, round the barricades at the cowering goblin. spear melee vs orc [1d20+1] = 12+1 = 13 damage [1d6+1] = 3+1 = 4.

If he can't reach the orc then the next best thing is to bull charge the barrels out of the way, putting his shield and back into it like a soccer scrum and pushing.

Brother Henry - Priest

Henry stands back, making sure the lantern is giving off enough light for everyone - he also keeps a watchful eye on our rear and flanks

Littbarsky lowers his shoulder, driving it into the barricade, forcing a gap in the crates and barrels. Cormac eagerly presses forward, axe swinging sidelong. As he moves in, the orc thrusts with his spear, but the tip glances off the tribesman's hauberk. Cormac's return blow is strong, but slow, and the orc dances aside.

The rest of the party presses forward a bit, but holds their fire, lest they hit their companions by accident.

Aron will watch the party's back for further company as the front line attempts to finish off this orc.

Geert also stands by, keeping watch for any tricks from behind or ... elsewhere.

Can we see past the barrels into this room? Is there another exit?

Littbarsky

having a hold of the barrel will roll it further, attempting to crush the orc and any others if they appear behind other crates.

Eglistrum Paharis

The mage grips his staff, looking for an opportunity to attack the orc.
Staff Attack (19): [1d20] = 6; Damage: [1d6] = 2

Only if Eglistrum can reach the orc without interfering with anyone else's attack will he strike.

Lardo grits his teeth and hisses, "Finish the little rotter off!" He returns his attention to the party's rear.

Initiative
Initiative for monsters: [1d6] = 5
Initiative for party: [1d6] = 4

While the clerics and Lardo watch the rear, the others crowd forward as Cormac and the orc trade blows, to little effect...they seem surprisingly evenly matched, the Lamoran's greater strength and stature compared to the orc's sheer brutality and dirty fighting. Littbarsky attempts to roll a barrel into the orc and tumble him, but the creature sees it coming and leaps backward, so the cask passes between the two combatants, narrowly missing Cormac. Eglistrum and Ampersand both slip through the (now wider) gap in the barricade, circling to either side. Eglistrum tries jabbing at the orc with his staff, but misses. Ampersand, for his part, continues to circle, trying to get in position behind the orc, but the creature is wary of him and puts his back to a wall (AMKHWB3, you are able to attack from the side if you wish, but without special benefit).

All those in the room, along with Geert and Littbarsky, can see that it is a smallish square chamber (perhaps 20x20), quite cluttered along all walls with barrels and various stores. There is a corridor leading off to the north (you entered from the east side). You appear to have the orc trapped, hemmed in against the west wall by Cormac, Eglistrum, and Ampersand.

Littbarsky

Will steer the rolling barrel further down the northern corridor, behind it he feels secure from any traps he might set off or pits unseen beneath. He will stop at the first doorway or intersection and take guard behind it.

Ampersand Mxyzptlk Kerfuffle Humperdink Wongdoodle Biddleshaft the Third pulls an axe from his belt and hacks just to the side of the orc.

Geert runs through the barrier, switching bow for axe, and also tries to get at the lone orc. "Give up, talk to us, and maybe your life doesn't end here and now!"

Hand axe to hit/damage (melee): [1d20+1] = 6+1 = 7 / [1d6+1] = 3+1 = 4

The orc ignores Geert's call to surrender, gritting its teeth and fighting on despite the odds. It does so with surprising effectiveness, avoiding blows from Cormac, Geert, and Ampersand the Verbose. But when he jabs his spear at Cormac, he leaves himself open for a split-second, and Eglistrum cooly drives the butt of his staff into the orc's throat. The creature collapses, stricken, emitting horrible choking sounds until it dies (6 damage, kill).

Meanwhile, Littbarsky rolls the barrel down the northward hall, using it as a mobile barricade. With the bright comforting glow of the lantern behind him, he uses the underground vision of his dwarvish heritage, so he sees the doorway ahead that appears to lead into a room...and he sees the pair of tall figures who step into the doorway, ready for battle.

One is an orc female, tall and slender, clad in a an armored suit of leather and furs; she bears a shortsword with a wavy kris blade, and a round shield bearing the emblem of a scorpion with an orc's head. Beside her is the biggest orc Littbarsky has ever seen, as broad-shouldered as Cormac. He is clad in a suit of plate-and-mail, with a sturdy oaken shield strapped to one arm, and the other hand with a raised throwing axe, which he lets fly as soon as he sees the dwarf. Littbarsky tries to duck behind his barrel, but the axe strikes him in the helm, glancing off with a screech of metal but still dealing him a hard blow to the skull (4 damage; Littbarsky is at 4 HP). By the time the dwarven warrior recovers, the hulking orc has drawn a broadsword, and he and his female begin to advance down the hall.

I gave you cover, Littbarsky, but his attack roll was good enough to hit anyway.
Everone else keep in mind, you cannot see the 2 orcs down the hall (Henry's lantern illuminates the room, but not much of the hall).

Rolls: EDIT: Sorry, just realized I forgot to post the battlemap
