"You seem to think I'm going somewhere to start or help perpetuate a war, nothing could be further from the truth." Ramona smiles and leans forward on the table, "I mean don't get me wrong puddin', I'll kill a man in a fair fight... or if I think he's gonna start a fair fight, or if he bothers me, or if there's a woman, or a particularly hot man, or if I'm gettin' paid - mostly only when I'm gettin' paid."

She smirks and winks, "Lets face it, while getting shot at is at least twice as much fun as you think it is, you're not paying me enough to get killed."

Hardlin nods. "We'll get you memclips of the system overview, and some manuals for it. And would you like an in person tour? We can arrange that, likely, for tomorrow afternoon. Engineering Section needs to be at least 3 people. Yourself, Gospodin Zal, I think. Gospodin Woo as captain and chief pilot, Gospodin Irwin as XO and navigator, also programmer at arms, though he has engineering skills as well. Gospa Quinn as head of security and medic, secondary programmer at arms. We can probably scrape up some skillage in a day or two, vet them, to fill up the needed slots. Gunners, definitely. Some more med skills if possible. These Carrillian boats usually take a crew of 13, but you can scrape by with 6 or 7, with the automation in place. The government had serious flaws, but their tech was damned good."

Jimi nods and says seriously, "Yes, to the personal tour.

"In fact, I want the command team moved aboard ASAP so we can start hands on familiarization, pre-flight checks and some dry drills." Jimi adds, "As you find us more crew we will be in place to integrate them into the team. You want this to have, like, next week? Then we need to start prepping, like, yesterday."

"And I agree with Gospa Stoddart, I'd much rather go in harms way with a full crew than short handed. Hell, I wouldn't oppose having a few extra spacers and a squad of marines in full battle suits along for the ride." Jimi grins, "Doubt you'll provide those, though."

Aadam Zal listens to all of this with focus and then asides to Jiao:

"Mr. Jiao, lets set it up in engineering. Youre chief, then me, with Irwin pinch hitting? I agree on some automation or maybe another drivehand?"

I'll get to pulling specs on this class and get an idea what were up against. All them p guns drawing on some futzy powerplant. Mm."

(To group)
Im all for the crew slots, but fyi, im a 2 rated pilot, and a real demon on the deck when it comes to comps and programming, so if we gotta rotate or anything, im in. Im also in for EVA work."

Ivan laughs at the banter at the table in way that would make an Aslan's dewclaws come out... Yeah, this crew will do.

Gospa Stotts, I like how you think. The armament package will do just fine, thank you.

As to crewing the ship, I'm a qualfied bridge officer, Helm and Navigation. I've got some technical skills, but probably not as deep as most of you. Mostly it's just engine theory and maintenance stuff.
I'm set on a good vacc suit, probably better tan most of you. I used to be a belter for living, and not even drop marines care about the quality of their work gear like someone who has to pay for it out of their own pocket.

A toothy smile...
No offense to any of you meat can operators, of course.
As to weapons, I've got an accelerator rifle and snub pistol. Like I said, I'm used to Zero-G. But a pair of dirtside guns would be nice. Nothing fancy, though. I'm not all that up on machine guns, ya know?

Slight change to the subject. Do the evacuees know we're coming? You godspodiiye said you had people in the camps. Are these people an organizing team for the evacuation?

Ramona looks at the ships profile and then at Jiao, "Sister, that ain't no warship and pretending it is is an amazing way to get dead fast."

"That is a get in, get the job done and get the hell out before someone figures out a way to take advantage of the situation."

I agree. Turrets don't make a warship. No matter how well armed, we won't have the electronics or the armor to go toe-to-toe with destroyers. I just want to make the corsairs and raiders stand off, and the armament package looks to do that well.
Our mission is to safely transport these people, and 'safely' means we don't fire a shot. In and out quick as you please, just a slightly more complicated cargo run. That's our definition of success.

Jiao shrugs eloquently. "My job is to fix it if it breaks. If we were just running a commercial operation, taking extra time to fix something just costs money. With us, it could be fatal. That's close enough to 'warship' for me." She meets Ramona's gaze. "You should know that I've never commanded a ship before. Chief Engineer places me in the command succession line, so a little training and contingency planning probably is in order."

Duly noted, will parcel them out as they come in... Heheheheheh

Hardlin says "Okay, we'll schedule the walk-through and move-in for tomorrow afternoon. Myself and Gospa Hiromashu have something we need to take care of in the morning. Gospa Quinn, Gospodin Woo, we expect you to attend the function as well. Wear all white, it'll be the standard Cao Dai memorial service." Jimi, Ramona, you know that Cao Dai Buddhism was a predominant religion in Carrillian space, and that Go-Go was brought up Cao Dai. "Anything else before we break for lunch? You're all welcome to the office commissary, we'll of course comp your lunches..."

Jiao stands and makes her way to the commissary for lunch. her mind races as she walks along. What the hell have I just gotten myself into? Running away from home was a good idea at the time, but finding a war wasn't what I had in mind. She sighs softly.
