Hello

#1 Post by SpinwardMarch »

I am an "older" gamer, having been introduced to D&D in 1979. I live in a rural area, so I am reaching out to find more of my kind of people online. I am currently playing Numenera via Skype, in a group that has been playing together (mostly Traveller) for 25 years.
Favorite games: Classic Traveller, Mongoose Traveller (1st ed.), Numenera, AD&D, Call of Cthulhu, and Amber.
I prefer thinking games over bash-em-ups.

Welcome SpinwardMarch!
I think you’ve found a good spot for you to play!!
FYI we have a two post moderation policy, so this post (and your next) may take (took) a little time to appear, but after that you are good to go.
Be welcome, be well and happy gaming!

This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

My old boss used to call them "smart fellers", which is funny in a 7 year old boy sort of way when you switch the first letters of the two words.
Dragon foot. Bamboo pole. Little mouse. Tiny boy.

Welcome aboard! I've found that games on the forum (at least the ones I've played in) tend to be more thinking than fighting. I think the nature of play by forum lends itself to that quite well. Not to say that there isn't a decent amount of (deadly) combat, but it isn't all hack and slash.
Sometimes this summer I will most likely be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.
