Wish I could play more OSR games!

#1 Post by panglott »

Hello all!

I got into RPGs as a teenager back in the '90s, when my friends played 2e AD&D. We switched over to 3e, then 3.5e, but 4e was not a good fit for us, so we switched to Pathfinder. We've had a lot of fun with that, but are just exhausted with the level of work running Pathfinder. I'd like to play Labyrinth Lord, but it looks like my friends IRL are gravitating toward 5e. So I've been playing OSR games like LL and B/X at cons, but haven't been able to play regularly.

In recent years I've been more of a board gamer, especially playing lots of abstract games on turn-based sites.

Welcome, panglott. You're going to find that you're in a good place as there is a lot of OSR love here.

Enjoy!

And welcome to full membership in the top forum in the world!

This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

By the way... if you are interested in joining a pretty fantastic OSR (Labyrinth Lords rule set) game, this one is awesome and is open for new players to join at any time!

Welcome aboard!
Sometimes this summer I will most likely be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.
