Greetings

#1 Post by hammerHead »

Greetings,

I'm looking to contribute as a player and possibly as a dm regards games
for 1e, 2e, or retro.

Background: I started with the basic box set in 79'. In the 80's and 90's I played D&D and AD&D 1e, 2e, RuneQuest also MERP, Top Secret, Bushido,
Thieves World, Thieves Guild, Harn

After a long layover, about 3 years ago, I played a round of 4e online over at enworld. I also read a lot of 3.5 modules but never got passed rolling a few chars.

Currently, I'm running a Greyhawk campaign at
a table, which has worked through N1, The Cult of the Reptile God, and T1, The Village of Hommelet.

N1 is purported for beginners or those who have been away from the game for awhile. I found that to be true.

Finally, in 1983, I traded a used Travelor box set with one additional supplement for 3 Escher prints. :D

Welcome, Hammerhead!

One more moderated post and you'll be good to go.

Your gaming past sounds all too familiar to many of us here on US, I'm sure.

Back in 1987, I traded my 10 speed for a ninjato. With a real edge. #nerd #Istillhaveit

But I think you got the better deal.

Hello and Welcome Hammerhead :)

You shouldn't have much trouble find those types of games or gamers around here. You'll find a lot of us are old school edition people.

Once more welcome to the community/site Hammerhead.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm currently much enjoying reading North march and village of horror, briartown. There appear to be levers upon levers, and no two runs are the same.

In terms of php, in the enworld 4e, a lengthy debate about whether to rest after a full day's march and combat or to proceed directly to the lair took place. The advocate for not resting had the most 4e experience. But the idea of not resting seemed unthinkable to those still clinging to earlier edtions and their required sensibilities. The party ended up resting, but the person who advocated not resting was found to be in the right for 4e, by the action that transpired.

You may be right. But things have gone full circle (or recursived there). I no longer have the Escher prints, and today, wouldn't pass on a Traveler game.

Ah, having a degree in Art History, I'd still have the Escher prints, I believe...

Welcome hammerHead!
--Ron--
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

Welcome aboard!
Sometimes this summer I will most likely be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.
