Siggard leaps into the room with VdP and starts shouting orders as he reloads his empty pistol.

"You lazy dogs get yer asses through that door and into that cargo hold! If these lubbers would rather die a violent death than to surrender peacefully, then so be it! After them men! If they don't wave the white flag of surrender, then cut them down to the last man!"

Hoping the ruse works, he motions for Gin to sneak up to the door with him to have a peek inside. He whispers along the way.

"Did you see that thing? Twernt no normal dog. No wonder the priest thought to bless me. He must have known about this fire breathing monster. If that thing comes at us again, let me take its blast while you chop it up."

If there is any need to fire or slash.....

Pistol Attack [1d20] = 18 Damage [2d4] = 6

VdP Attack Roll [1d20] = 4

Rexlin

Laughs as he sees the aftermath of the Point Blank cannon shot through the door. He slaps Old Fishy on the back as the smoke clears and he leaps inside seeing the carnage within. "Get them hog tied good Fishy! Use their own belts if you have to! You're at the Mercy of Rexlin Dupre you dogs! Pray I let you meet the Captain before I filet you for jerky. AND YOU!" he bellows keeping up his bluff when he sees the priest and charges him, bringing the pommel of his sword down on the priest head intent on knocking him out so he has another live prisoner, but hopes to stop him before he does any kind of holy foolishness. He still holds a loaded pistol at the ready in his off hand, teeth bared beneath a bristly maul.

To Hit [1d20] = 19 DMG [1d8] = 4

In case Fishy needs to skewer someone with funny ideas...

Fishy with Cutlass [1d20] = 16 DMG [1d8] = 1

Fishy with Dagger[1d20] = 10 DMG [1d4] = 3

Iggway, Szmodics and Zoggrot and the pirate crew that have followed their war cries all manage to successfully dodge the deathly hail of shrapnel from the cannon chase as it splits the gun barrel apart. Successfully dodge is relative in the sense that each person takes half damage from the blast effects. (-4hp).A timely reminder of how deadly cannons can be if caught in the full force blast. With ringing ears and concussed heads shaken alert the trio begin to assist the injured crew to the McGregor's galley.

"Get back you slovenly dogs, seize the plunder before she lists and sinks. Bring up cargo from below and lets' see what grace and fate has delivered into our bounteous care", Captain Lazarus drives the men back with sharp command to fully seize the vessel and salvage everything before the barque sinks.

Rexlin
barks and bellows too, crowning the ruff collared Iberian priest with the hilt of his sword. The man is dragged onto the deck and limply falls, sprawled clutching his wooden holy symbol. The two sailors are tied to the main mast, bloodily prodded to quick step to their posting by stabs from a grinning Fishy. They sag weakly as the pirate crew celebrate around them.

Pocc and his eye patched pirates frisk the three Iberians in a frenzied mob, a few coins and fancy bracelets get pocketed. They then turn a greedy eye to the cabin quarters. Decimated by the round shot they search through the desk and cupboards with frugal results. Pocc picks up a carved wooden lecturn in the shape of an owl spreading its' wings. Another hands a mass of scorched papers and nautical charts over.

In the below decks melee, Geoffrey swipes a cut through his nemesis. He stabs him and the lunge is followed by other wounds as 'Bloods' Bastards' weigh in together. The two Iberian sailors get 'pin cushioned' to death by numerous piercings and their blood runs to mix with the swirling seawater in the hold. The cargo space is quite though a deep growling is heard up by the stern end of the ship. Neither Raul or Ignato had a pistol so warily the men inch forward waiting for the hidden assassin to shoot from the shadows.

Siggard and Van de Poel jump into the fray, landing with a splash in the water. The tear on the barques sides leaks water in with every ebb of the waves. The hole might ordinarily be patchable but this ship is slowly going down. The mage weaves between hooked hammocks, cautious of the hellhound and thankful for Elijah's insight.
If there is any need to fire or slash..
... well as it happens the hellhound leaps with a sharp toothed snarl from behind some boxes. It snaps at Siggard and tears his clothing, the savagery would probably have ripped even through the most plated of armour but the mastiff is put off by the point blank pistol shot. Siggards outer robes have been shredded and he takes a minimal-1hpdamage from a laceration, the mastiff has a critical skull wound. Fire is breathed out from its blackened mouth in a fury at the intruders. (-6hp) (save vs dragon breath for half damage normally, -3hp if successful). Siggard with his streak of silvery mercury receives an additional ward to the damage. hellhound [1d20] = 14 [1d10] = 1.

next actions please, include rolls for the men you lead if any.

Geoffrey and his men fan out in the cargo hold, looking for iberian cravens.
If he finds one that needs swatting, Long Sword [1d20+2] = 8+2 = 10 ; damage [1d8+1] = 1+1 = 2 sm/md ; [1d12+1] = 1+1 = 2 Lg

his men, if same chance:
men [1d20] = 8 [1d20] = 5 [1d20] = 5 [1d20] = 20
men [1d20] = 10 [1d20] = 7 [1d20] = 7 [1d20] = 2

(they are all obviously better suited for daytime deck fighting...)

Szmodics

"Aye Aye Captain Lazarus Sir,"he says and fixing his tartan scarf goes below down the wide steps. He has loaded his bow and trains it on the men with Geoffrey looking for a non-tartan wearer to snipe at. Light crossbow short range [1d20+1] = 11+1 = 12 [1d4+1] = 1+1 = 2

Rexlin

Soon as the three prisoners are secured, he and Fishy rob them of everything they carry down to their boots. Rex makes a point of taking the holy symbol and ripping a large portion of the priest's robe to make a gag for the holy man. He was taking no chances.

He was eager to get them aboard the McGregor and tied to the mast. Once they were held by the regulars, he and Fishy rushed over the rail once more to raid the cabins and deck for dropped goods. Rexlin hopes to find some papers or charts along with the usual goodies as he and Fishy busily paw through the wreckage. "Musket... musket... musket...

Save vs. Breath for VdP:
Random d20 [1d20] = 4
Can I see a hit point tally for Gin, please? I hope it isn't already too late..... :?

And for Sig:
Save vs. Breath (15) [1d20] = 3

Siggard is shocked that this big red dog monster just took a point blank blast from a pistol to the head.......and is still standing. He tries to shield Gin from the bad dogs fiery breath, even know his own health wont hold out much longer against this deadly animal.

"I knew that was no ordinary dog! We need to put this thing down before we all go down.....to the bottom!"

With no other option immediately available to him, he fires off his other pistol at the fire dog, again at point blank range.
Pistol Attack [1d20] = 16 Damage [2d4] = 2

Gin takes a hack with his sword as well if there is anything left of the monster.

VdP Attack Roll [1d20] = 4
Gin needs a better roller. :D

Iggway can hear the chaos ensuing below deck, she slowly walks down the stairs readying her vile of holy water, to pour around her, she then casts Protection from Evil on herself.

. Pocc sends his eye patch wearing pirates down the step ladder, one at a time they go below and stand in the shin deep waters. They form a chain and hand to hand begin to pass up loose crates and sacks of grainy powder.

hellhound [1d20] = 7 [1d10] = 4
Bloods' bastard crit [1d6] = 3

Siggard and sidekick Van de Poel receive the intense fiery blast of the hellhounds fury. Both are burned but Siggards skin radiates a silvery sheen as if some asbestos skin absorbs the furnace breath of the beast. He takes just a minimal wounding of blisters around exposed skin. Face loses a few scorched hairs and bolts upstairs. The mage lets rip with the last of his pistols, again hitting the snarling mastiff with a crucial hit. The creature, originating from another world has taken wounds enough to bring three men down, bleeding heavily and enraged the creature bites at his foes as he gets surrounded by Geoffrey and half of Bloods' bastards. One pirates gets in a critical thrust and skewers the hound through the ribs. It bites ferociously, snapping the man's blade clean in two and the beast breathes again a fiery expulsion of air at hellhound targeting, Sig and Van or Geoff and bloods [1d2] = 1 ... his nemesis, Hagslayer and de Poel. the tall pirate, having already received a roasting drops and rolls into the seawater to extinguish the burning flames. saves, [1d20] = 10, (receives half damage, -3hp and his armour his burnt away useless.)

Iggway wards herself from the presence of unseen evils and arms herself with weapons of divinity. Following a ruck of men descending the steps to the cargo hold. Szmodics and Zoggrot with a combined party complete the horde of raiders intent on looting and pillaging. The other half of Geoffrey's men search under the sail cloth and crates for the pistol toting assassin who shot at them. Out of the prow end shadows a cloaked figure steps with a shortened musket pointed at the men intruding down the steps.
assasin pistol shot target, Szmo, Zog, Iggway, +13 [1d16] = 8 Ib pistol fire [1d20+1] = 3+1 = 4 [2d4] = 8

His shot in nervous agitated hands is awry and faced with a dozen blooded blades he adds a personal dilution of yellow to the water sploshing around his ankles. He dies under a hail of merciless swords. The group may search the cargo hold. Above deck, Rexlin and Fishy snatch a bundle of muskets each. Rexlin also lays claim to the fancy scale designed cuirass that the cleric wears. triumphantly he strips the desolate Iberian priest of his robes and tries the suit on for size. Despite being broader in girth and a head taller, the scale armour seems to overlap with new shingles and 'spreads to fit' the dandy pirate. While Captain Lazarus interrogates the tied up cleric, Rex & co haul onto the McGregor the intact cannons and ammunition.

Siggard, Geoffreyand Poccwho is in the stern berth room, give me please an attack roll vs the hellhound (ac 6) and a single roll for your men.

Iggway, Zoggrot, Szmodics, make a 3d6 wisdom skill check please.

The barque has been overwhelmed and is in your hands, the ship however is slowly flooding and you have San Roque sinking [3d6] = 10 turns, just over an hour and half to haul up the cargo before the hold floods and the ship sinks. Under the sails you find 30+ long mammoth ivory tusks, 200+ sacks of green metal ore (copper powder), crates of unrefined crystals, unusual large leathery skins, including reptilian bird like wings and traditional trade barrels of molasses, sugars and citrus fruits.Give me an action postif you want to search a specific area, person or thing.

Szmodics

Grabs some of the ivory tusks and checks them for quality and length. An hour and half may go quickly if we have a lot to haul out. Can he tell what is the most valuable loot to haul out first, guessing tusks are most prized, he starts with them.

wisdom skill check [3d6] = 10

Zoggrot takes a second to rue the sinking of the ship. If it could have been salvaged, it would have made a fine prize. Alas, it is not to be.

"Grab what ye can and get our before she goes to the briny deep!" he exhorts his men.

Siggard knows that his guns are now both empty. He had hoped that this creature would have dropped by now. He sees the help coming and hopes it isn't the last thing he sees. He draws forth his dagger and tries to strike out at the hell dog.

Dagger Attack [1d20] = 11 Damage [1d4] = 4

VdP gets some sea water in his eyes when he rises back out of the brine to attack.

VdP Attack Roll [1d20] = 1 Sorry that my rolls are making your heroic npc a real dud lately.

Geoffrey swings but is clearly affected by the low light and listing conditions.
Long Sword [1d20+2] = 4+2 = 6 ; damage [1d8+1] = 5+1 = 6 sm/md ; [1d12+1] = 5+1 = 6 Lg

hellhound [1d20] = 11 damage [1d10] = 9 fire target s,p,g [1d3] = 1
Hellhounds bites: Pocc 1, pirates 2-6 [1d6] = 1
save vs dragon breath [1d20] = 12
vdp, Pocc patches, Geoff bloods [1d20] = 2 [1d20] = 19 [1d20] = 19

The ferocious fight with the bleeding hellhound reaches a dramatic and deathly conclusion. Backed into a corner with nowhere to exit the abyssal mastiff launches at the group of figures surrounding it. By chance it snarls at the new intruders who have followed the mage Siggard down the step ladder. It pounces on the back of Pocc and viciously mauls him, raking him through his studded armour, shredding the material and giving the sea druid a deep fanged wound to his back. Roger and Gaston the ettin snake curled around his neck and shoulders slither away from being torn in two, most probably three or four pieces. The hounds breathes an arc of fiery breath to those who closely grapple him, inflicting serious burns to those pirates' hands. Pocc's eye patch wearers drop their weapons and immerse themselves into the salty brine, excruciatingly painful but cleansing to the blistered wounds. Geoffrey's Bloods', finally get in telling stabs at the monstrous beast and it dies snarling under a hail of hacking cutlass blades.Pocc takes -9hp from the bite and a further -3hp from the fiery breath. It would have been double that, -6hp as you are unconscious from the bite and not able to make a save vs dragon breath, though being saved from further harm by fact of being prone in the seawater. His pirate group also take -3hp each.

The beast has a fancy strong leather collar with metal and jewelled rivets. The collar is taken off and the hounds body thrown through the gaping hull breach. The badly injured Pocc is immediately transferred to the McGregor galley. At the top of the stepladder, Elijah ministers a cure spell. Elijah CLW on Pocc [1d8] = 5(+5hp)

The men debate who lays a stronger claim on the collar as loot? Siggard and Van de Poel who critically attacked the creature first? Geoffrey and co who slew the beast? Pocc and men who took the most serious wounding?
Please put forward your argument if you wish to bid for the collar Sig, Geoff and Pocc.

Meanwhile in the cargo hold, the groups grab what loot they can, hauling up long ivories, sacks of copper ore and other valuables. With every round the San Roque barque slowly fills with more water. Above deck an after battle triage takes place with cannon and sail cloth being transferred onto the sloop. The two surviving Iberian sailors are spared death, mercifully taken as prisoners though their fates remain doubtful. The Iberian cleric though steadfastly refuses mercy and still lashed to the mainmast goes down with the barque.

Captain Lazarus praises his crew. It was a tough encounter and he has lost several men. Two drowning through the summoned weird elementals, several being blasted to death by the cannon fire. Nearly everyone has a scar and a story to tell. In return his men have claimed a rich bounty of goods though the first of the trading vessels has sank. Another lies crippled somewhere on beyond the horizon.

Under the administrations of the medics, those with shrapnel wounds receive an additional grace as the surgeon-cum-cook reads through the illustrated manuals collected from the Monte Verde infirmary. 'Butcher' Vayne adds to his skills for the surgery with the artisan scalpels and forceps in removing multiple pieces of shrapnel and sewing cuts together. Pocc is leeched to aid his recovery and prayers of blessings are said over the most wounded. Each injured character takes a +1d8 healing from either a potion or a cure spell administered, (please roll in your forums and update your sheets accordingly). Pocc takes additional comfort in the fact the his buddies R&G eventually snuggle back around his bandaged shoulders and curl up once more.

The pillaged cargo goes below into the sloops own stores and sails are set once again to track down the Sierra Nevada. Rexlin leads a group of marines to salute the going down of the ship with a volley from the looted muskets. Iggway, relived that no presence of evil or undead are found joins in with Szmodics and Zoggrot looting.

Post please any character further actions or comments then I will narrate the next portion to trace and raid the other ship on Friday.

So, is it filling with water, or effectively sunk? Any reason to attempt to salvage it with repairs? or should they get moving toward the wounded gazelle?

Siggard stops the overzealous pirates before they throw out a perfectly good non planer specimen, just because it scratched and burned them a little bit.

"Hey! Perryman and I could use some of that thing! You codfish already know that I have a minor fetish for keeping the dead things we've killed around."

He retrieves the hellhounds carcass before it sinks to the bottom for good, then asks VdP to haul it back to the "Revenge" for him.

"And as far as that fancy collar goes, Gin and I were the first ones on the scene, so the pirates code clearly dictates that it belongs to us!!! However, never let it be said that Siggard Hagslayer is not a fair half man. So, why don't we do this......instead of having a heated argument and possible bloodshed over the damn thing, why don't we just agree to sell it off and split the profits from it up equally? I will keep it safe for the time being and use my magic to discover everything that I can about it. If it is just another shiny, then we could sell it at our next port. I will be happy to keep it safe and sound for now."

"Do we have an accord then?"

If the others agree to these terms, the mage happily scarfs up the booty strap and secures it in his belt pouch.

Never being a big fan of the heavy lifting, the mage spends the rest of his limited time still aboard searching the entire ship for any hidden holds or secret closets before it goes down for good, wondering what happened to the elusive ships captain. He owes his own the mans severed head, after all.
