Slightly freaked out, Siggard motions to Rexlin to quietly slash the throat of the drunken snakeman before he awakens. He puts his finger to lips, giving the sister the universal shhhhhh sign.

He quickly looks around the immediate area to see if he can spot a ring of keys hanging around somewhere.

Rexlin

Takes his musket in his offhand and carefully draws his sword wanting to make no noise, he moves forward, quietly as he can, watching his step and carefully putting his feet down toe first to minimise his footfalls. He raises his seminar and brings it down, aiming to cut the head off the snake, as they say.

(Aiming for the neck if it makes a difference. Also unsure is there is a bonus for sneak or surprise, so nothing was figured in but the "raw roll" so to speak.)

I was under the impression that a sleeping target could be killed instantly. If that is not the case in this situation, I would like to change my action for Sig.

I think the 'slit throat' on sleeping targets is meant for the guy leaning over the blankets to assassinate someone in bed, you will have to sneak closer to do that, having an advantage in that the snakeman has been drinking. A rogue would have a better sneak %. I let Rex know he could get a double damage surprise attack with his bayonet. Hope that helps make the decisions quick and clinical enough not to alert the guards behind the curtain or the warriors in the temple.

Ok, thanks for the clarification.

Seeing no sign of keys anywhere, Sig watches the actions of Rexlin closely. If the mutated snake-man still draws breath after being attacked, the mage will fire his speedy magic missile spell off at the monstrosity.

Would anyone have a problem with me rerolling and reposting for a charge with bayonet? I know I kind of jumped the gun yesterday, but I felt like I was at risk of bogging down the action if I didnt do "something"

Pachucapatl cave:

In the small round cave rooms, the intrepid trio sneak through the bolted door as the Unseen servant welcomes his master through in true butler style. The praying figure of Sister Adelaide turns at your intrusion but doesn't makes a sound. Rexlin does though putting his foot in it once again. As the fighter levels the sharp point of the bayonet and runs across the room he must have kicked a marble or stone which somehow (maybe the gods hate him?) strikes the metal plate pushed in the corner. The sharp 'ting' is enough to alert the sleeping snakeman who intuitively raises an open slit eye. He sees a nightmarish figure, draped in mud and tattoos trying to run him through. The serpent man-creature is able to writhe and dodge to one side, slinking off the cushions but not before he is caught by the flash of a flying hags face which bites into him, hurled from the trigger fingers of the mage. Siggard MM damage [1d4+1] = 4+1 = 5. The marine gets a second lunge, this time finding flesh and scales, dropping his heavy musket in favour of the curved form of a pirates scimitar. He slashes at the half-man. Holden intones some hypnotic whisper, intending to lure him back into a comatose state but the creatures shakes his head clear of the effects of the alcoholic brew he quaffed. and ignores the mind influencing spell. His bleeding shoulder and open wound enough to make him realise his darkest nightmares have come true He has to stay awake to survive. saves [1d20] = 19

Your initial shock of not seeing a native warrior in the room but a half-man, half-serpent creature grows as you see that the savage cut given out by the sharp edge of the marines cutlass struggles to slice through the thick scaly hide of the creatures torso. Like the waist down scales provide more resilience and dexterity to the snakeskin. The mans upper body bleeds profusely and he hisses at you, backing away on the coils of his tail and withdrawing two short swords which he twirls nimbly through his wrists, slashing figure of eight swipes in the air."So my prize has her champions. Come let us dance and I'll take your heads as a trophy to my queen...." The snake man vocalises several other words, his mouth moving in phrases of well known taunts but the room goes suddenly very, very quiet. None of you can hear any sound, you are all completely deaf. The nun stands, her feet manacles scraping unheard across the floor as she raises aloft her holy symbol in one hand and in the other mimes a 'zip' closing across her mouth and signals towards the entrance door.

The snakeman smiles lasciviously, stretching his neck muscles and tensing his large biceps. He targets Rexlin, determining the tall aggressive figure the dominant warrior in the party group. The twin short blades twist and turn in the air, slicing with speed and power, but the marines pugilists' instinct causes him to duck and dive, swerving the edged weapons like a champ hemmed in on the ringside ropes. Envoys melee [1d20+2] = 7+2 = 9 [1d20+2] = 4+2 = 6 short sword damage [1d6+2] = 4+2 = 6 [1d6+2] = 5+2 = 7
over to you guys for some lethal fun.

Rexlin "Devil's Scowl" Dupre

Grins, smelling blood and feeling comfortable in his element now. Loving the idea of the silence spell, he draws Sonia and lets the officer's pistol do its work with not fear of the bang alerting anyone. He aims for the Naga's chest since it offers a nice broad target, hoping its anatomy is roughly the same as a that of a human's.

Siggard looks at the now upright nun as if she had just preformed them a miracle, for indeed she had. He steps forward for a better view of this freakish monster, out of the range of the swords of course, but in short range of his pistols.

Holden picks up the falling musket and fires immediately at the snakeman. Though it has been a while since he last used one of these things.

Musket Attack: [1d20-1] = 8-1 = 7 ,Damage: [2d6] = 4

Pachucapatls Cave:

The envoy snake-man twirls his swords and coils his tail ready to grab and constrict any foolish one seeking to grapple with him. In the deathly silence of the ante-chamber, death bells begin to toll unheard. Quick-on-the-draw Siggard, withdraws his loaded guns from sleeve holsters and waist belt. The smoking guns and recoil the only sign of twin lead shot ejecting from the barrels. One ricochets of the cave wall, the other strikes point blank and staggers the tough opponent back. He recoils again as Sonia, held loving in the hands of Rexlin blasts an accurate shot through the rib cage and out through the creatures spine. It coughs and splutters, lungs filling up with blood. Holden grabs for the musket, loaded already he aims and fires. The smoke clears from the barrel but despite the nearness the bard has missed the target. Despite the creature taking mortal wounds, it hangs on to grim life though his upper torso pale significantly as his life ebbs away. Springing on his coiled tail though the envoy lashes out at Holden on his right and Rexlin on his left. Twin sharpened blades slash heavily through the soft leather armour the pirates wear and both take serious damage. Holden pales as significantly as the snakeman, a single thin line of blood tracing across his jugular and then his legs collapse beneath him and hitting the floor, his vein opens shockingly. The spurts fountain out in diminishing beats, covering the mosaic tiles with crimson.

Envoys melee [1d20+2] = 15+2 = 17 [1d20+2] = 13+2 = 15 short sword damage [1d6+2] = 4+2 = 6 [1d6+2] = 6+2 = 8(Holden -6hp, Rexlin -8 hp)

The snake man wobbles alarmingly and you can see his strength fading, he tries to near the door and exit but it remians bolted by the unseen servant. Sister Adelaide reaches out to the prone form of her blond haired rescuer, dragging his corpse closer by the shirt collar, his sprig of belladonna soaked in moist blood. The silver razor blade tucked into his shirt by the store trader falling out. Spying this the nun tries to use it and sever the binding hemp rope from around her wrists, but the rope is too thick.

actions please

Infirmary raid:

Geoffrey Blood seeks solace from the biting, poison ejecting snakes and the grasping of the dead wight within Iggways' native warded prayer shield. Consoling himself that a divine remedy may be found, the marine listens to the others actions.

Gaston the Wight tries to flee from the presence of the holy men, seeking a solace within the ante-natal rooms. With no where left to run it can only cower and groan, throwing boxes and cabinets out of the way in its attempt to flee the radiance from Padre Claudes' raised symbol. A few snakes strike out at him, latching fanged teeth into his already decaying rotten body. the bloated beast ignores their pain and reaches out to push Elijah out of the way so it can flee into the dark night. wight attack, [1d20] = 9 [1d4] = 2

Once again the dark knight of Poseidon tries to burn the wights flesh with splashes of holy water from his wineskin. Again the wight dodges the stream of holy acid and stands in the foyer. Some mystical force actually binds the wight to the boundary of the infirmary building and despite the wide open entrance doors it cannot leave these premises. With Iggway chanting holy verses in the foyer centre, the beast remains hemmed in and claws feebly at the invisible barriers preventing its escape. It kneels scraping at the floor tiles almost trying to dig a way out.

At the other end of the corridor, Pocc the druid sadly beheads the last cobra. The way is clear to open the vivarium doors but as Captain Lazarus reaches out to open them a long decayed blackened arm crashes through the frosted glass windows and grasps at the pirate. It just misses his neck. wight attack, [1d20] = 3 [1d4] = 4 More glass gets smashed in furious splinters and a large monstrous looking wight stands glaring from demon red eyes at the intruders. Padre Claude comes out from the birthing room. Looking at both of the wights, one withered and weak and another menacing and visibly deadly, he exclaims "Tis the nightmare that struck me before!"

actions please everyone.

Rexlin "Devil's Scowl" Dupre

Turns red-faced mad as he feels the flesh open from the wound he takes from the Envoy. He holsters Sonia as he raises his sword and takes a hacking blow to the snake's torso, hoping to give him a red sash to wear to his afterlife in trade. His mouth moving silently in a string of profanities as he does so.

To Hit [1d20] = 12 DMG [1d8] = 1

OOC: Do I understand correctly that Holden is being taken care of by the nun now? We don't need to panic about binding his wounds so he doesn't bleed out? Or is he still in danger of this?

Sister Adelaide is able to stand but her feet are manacled together by a chain and some ankle cuffs. Her hands are bound at the wrist by a thick hemp rope and tied to a metal ring on the wall. She has enough rope to move to the edge of her cave room, about 15ft' so when Holden fell injured I graciously narrated him being dragged away from the snake man by the nun. She will be able to address his injuries next round. For Holden, the following is a quote from the House Rules:
At exactly 0 HP, characters are knocked out and will remain so for d6 turns. Make a normal Con check [3d6] to recover or suffer another d6 turns unconscious. Repeat until awake at 1hp.
so Holden makes a d6 roll, this is how long he is knocked out unless he gets some immediate medical help such as healing spell, potion, lotion, etc.

Zoggrot steps forward and stabs the new wight (in the back, if possible) with a silvered dagger.

Silvered throwing dagger, melee (THAC0 20): [1d20+1] = 18+1 = 19 [1d4+3/1d3+3] = err
Dagger damage: [1d4+3] = 1+3 = 4

But we cant cast a healing spell due to the silence, correct? And we have no potions that Sig would know of?

I am just trying to figure out if it makes more sense to try to prevent his unconsciousness so he can still function, or if the better option is to try to kill this thing to keep anyone else from falling. Sounds like the latter to me.
