Monster Ideas

#1 Post by Alethan »

Someone sent this video to me because it involves woodworking.

But I share it with you because it is also terrifying. And maybe a good source for some new monsters, if you were so inclined to make them...

Dragon foot. Bamboo pole. Little mouse. Tiny boy.

Is there a Krampus somewhere in D&D? There must be in some monster compendium or in the back of some supplement.

Not officially, I don't think.

There are a bunch of resources listed in this thread: Index of monsters. A few no longer work, but I searched these and did not find it:

All Monsters
http://monsterfinder.dndrunde.de/allmonsters.php

Echohawk
http://ant.hivemind.net/monsters.html

SBLaxman

Monstrous Index

There are a few player-created rules for it that I found, including these:

5e Homebrew

Pathfinder Custom Creation

Tim Brennan did Krampus on his blog: http://theotherside.timsbrannan.com/201 ... demon.html and this one though they may be the same: http://www.drivethrurpg.com/m/product/201256

Pathfinder did one, which wouldn't help me but I know Greg and Dave have experience with the system: http://www.d20pfsrd.com/extras/communit ... rs/krampus

DF can be helpful too, sometimes: http://www.dragonsfoot.org/forums/viewt ... =1&t=64242

Mark Chance's for S&W and PF but this one will cost ya ... 66 cents :) : http://www.rpgnow.com/m/product/168172

Good luck!
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.
