Bring out yer diiiice... *meow*

#1 Post by Alethan »

Rather than derail the other dice thread, I figured I'd just start a new one.

I've lost more dice over the years than I care to think about - most of that loss happened in college, when we were just as likely to have a few [sic] beers during play - but I've managed to hold on to a few of them over the year...

The few GameScience dice I apparently own:

The rest of the relatively small crowd:

The dreaded tiny green RED (Random Encounter Die) used when I sit in the DM chair:

It is actually a Gen Con special dice. I think they gave it away at GC 25 or 30. The "1" spot is occupied by a dragon. I will try and get it out and take a picture.

That's a treasure trove barsh.

Since I returned to gaming from a long long absence, I've taken a selective approach to new dice. These steel dice are my current favorite in the family:

Some other new members of the family, along with the great grampa blues and grandma golds. I tend to go with one set for a play session, where I use to mix and match from box.

Interesting that you arranged them all with the high number up except on the old blue and golds...

Sorry for spamming the dice thread, but seemed appropriate:

This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

EDIT: Okay that's a big picture. Let's just put the link. It's worth it to click on the link above though!

Many years ago, after years and years of not having anyone to play D&D with, I got rid of all my stuff.

I have no dice and since I only play here I need none.

So my daughters have finally made their way in to the Chagmat Temple and I was taking pictures of the aftermath and my 11yo's map (we had to stop because all the Chagmat octagons gave her a headache :) ) when I realized in the pictures, my 9yo's straight line of dice. She keeps them in that little pumpkin, and I didn't check if they were all high number up, but it made me chuckle.
