Testing Keys
"Will these fit?" AdaRue asks as she produces one of the sets of keys the group found while rescuing the last group of prisoners. The keys are tested, and they are not a match.

The keys, it's determined, are sized for manacles, not door locks.

Lock Picked! (And Barracks)
Horatio puts his picks to the lock and, with only minimal effort, is able to quickly overcome the locking mechanism. The thief turns and returns the keys to AdaRue because he clearly does not need them. He also returns to his rightful spot near the comfortable middle of the marching order.

Junius steps forward and carefully turns the handle and opens the door. Almost immediately, the distinct smell of whiskey and urine escapes from the area beyond. Peering inside, the dwarf spies, and relays to the others, that the room contains six small beds, each with goblin-sized lumps under the blankets. Next to each bed appears to be a small chest or lockbox.

A table in the center of the room is decorated with several large tankards and a large empty bottle of some kind.

Suddenly, a loud snore coming off from the right startles Junius, but the all the occupants of this new room remain fast asleep... or passed out.

There are no other visible exits detected.

Vernon looks to the others for a signal to enter and slay the foul creatures that are helping to poison his town. He is of the mind that the group has been tiptoeing through this place for long enough.

After repacking her keys, AdaRue readies herself for whatever is on the other side of the door. Once the door is open, she is unable to see what the dwarfs have found, and is just glad she doesn't hear the sound of combat.

If Horatio can get back to the front of the group, he moves into the room, checking for traps or squeaky boards on the way, trying to move silently as he goes. He makes for the goblins to slit their throats—doing so, at the risk of repetitiveness, quietly.

Do I roll to move silently, or do you, Dave?

Ooc...what are the rules again for fighting sleepers?

Sacro will plan to go in and slay as they sleep as well.

Junius will depending on answer. His armor is a bit loud.

From the spell description for 'Sleep' (LL, 39):
Sleep wrote:"Sleeping creatures are helpless
and can be killed instantly with a blade weapon. Slapping or
wounding awakens an affected creature, but normal noise
does not. Sleep does not affect undead creatures."

So, from that, I would consider even armored characters entering the room to be "normal noise" and not something that would wake them.

If you want them all dead -- they're dead.

Vernon gladly assists in the massacre, exacting vengeance on these creatures for the misfortunes they have placed on his town. He does not see any use in leaving a goblin alive.

AdaRue waits outside until the job is finished. She searches the bodies and looks over the chests next to each bed (without touching them yet). The other room might be a mirror image to this one. Shall we dispatch any goblins there as well? She does not believe any goblin will willingly aid the group but is willing to try if someone will translate.

Room Cleared
The passed out goblins are eliminated. Each goblin carries only a key on their bodies, which it fitted for the lockbox next to their beds which AdaRue has been inspecting and deems to be safe. The lockboxes are opened to reveal the following:
  1. 4sp, 1gp, and a quill pen.
  2. A broken compass that always points east.
  3. A pair of dice, and two pieces of a dark mineral that are drawn to each and attempt to remain connected if separated.
  4. A glass vial with red liquid exactly like the ones found amongst the torturers possessions.
  5. 15sp and some rotting meat on a stick.
  6. A small branch or stick, twisted into the shape of a figure eight.
Nothing else of value is found in the room, so they return to the other locked door.

AdaRue sips the red liquid, and, if it doesn't seem poisonous, she places a dab on her lips to taste it and see if it has some effect. Preferably pleasant. She also inspects the rocks, seeing if the are attracted to other objects, such as metal.
