Junius swings wildly with his scimitar after hastily switching to it from his bow. AdaRue arrives behind the goblin and brains it with her mace from behind! The goblin snarls in pain as it brings its clawed hand to the back of its head to make sure its brains are still contained within its skull. Severely wounded, the determined guard wills itself to continue. "Are there more?" the protective midwife asks. "We should get out of here, probably." she adds when her solid strike fails to eliminate the threat. "Naw, if they don't surrender, we'll just throw 'em in the smelly room!" Rainey says loudly from the rear ranks. Canun slings a stone at the goblin but his aim is slightly off as it ricochets off the portion of the left wall that juts out slightly, just after the passage with the door in that direction... just above Dimly's head as the dwarf creeps forward.

A few notes:
- The goblin has a 5 AC, making 14 the target roll needed before any penalty is applied for cover. Canun rolled an 11 (12 with the +1 for close range). Dimly rolled a 13 (14 with the +1), which would hit. However, the small goblin is almost completely shielded by AdaRue, who stands directly between it and all ranged attackers. Even with the minimum -1 for partial cover (I was giving it a -2 (which it realistically could have been -3)), it's still a miss.
- Dimly has an encounter movement rate of 20-feet, not 30. He, likely, will still need another round to reach the melee.

Knowing more goblins is more dangerius than one loose goblin, AdaRue breaks from combat and slams her body against the door, closing the other goblins in.

Dimly moves up, hugging the north wall to open a clear shot to the goblin, and fires an arrow at it.

Canun is getting nervous...and of course it's for his own well-being. He pulls a flask of oil from his flask and throws it just into the hallway heading north, hoping to head off a potential attack from this corridor.

The goblins act with surprising quickness! The initial goblin steps forward and continues to target Junius, unsuccessfully. A swarm of three more goblins emerge from behind the leader and quickly pick targets -- with two more feeding their dwarven hatred and targeting Junius, and the last one AdaRue. One of the goblins manages to sneak its goblin blade past Junius, but only manages to scratch him (-2). AdaRue is not as fortunate, however, and suffers a severe gash (-5) in her left side and quickly collapses to the floor in intense pain.
Canun pulls a flask of oil from his flask and throws it into the hallway heading north, coating that passage leading to the door in oil. Rainey lights a torch and retreats a few steps, shining a light down the main passage to the south, and currently sees nothing except hallway. Dimly continues to creep forward and hugs the northern wall to get a better angle. He looses another arrow which sinks into the wooden shield of his goblin target, but fails to cause any harm. Keebler and Horatio continue to hold their fire.
Sacro, advancing behind Dimly, sees the goblins emerge, and AdaRue collapse, and summons forth the arcane words he has memorized which have been pressing to be released. Targeting the center of the group of goblins now in the hallway, his 'Sleep' spell is so successful, it sends all the goblins, plus Junius and AdaRue, int a magical slumber. For now, all appears safe.

I'm sorry, Rusty! Because you were only reduced to zero hit points and didn't go into negatives, per my house rule, you do get a saving throw versus 'Death' (11+) to see if she simply falls unconscious.

AdaRue lies unconscious on the floor, seemingly dead, though a close inspection reveals the faintest breathing. Perhaps Sacro's spell has slowed her metabolism enough to save her life. Perhaps she needs the kiss of a prince charming. More likely, she needs to sleep this off. Rest assured though, the mothering cleric clings to this cursed life and will live (and worry over her friends) a while longer.

Dimly heaves a sigh of relief to see AdaRue healed. We need to get out of here, he says, but glances at the doorway the goblins came out of. It would be a shame to leave behind any gold they were guarding in this room though... he trails off wistfully. The dwarf walks into the corridor to the south, just to the edge of the room, arrow nocked for any goblin beyond.

AdaRue stirs and wipes the fluid from her forehead, looking upward for a wet ceiling. She thanks Canun for his ministrations, but is unable to reassure him that she won't be there to defend their friends. Junius would have been skewered and I couldn't live with that. She immediately regrets the choice of words, fearing Canun's retort that she would be more alive if she hadn't gotten involved. Trying to head it off, she says she will try to stick with the sling for now. She retrieves her lantern and peers into the room, hoping the let's are to cells with prisoners.

AdaRue thanks Canun for his ministrations, and does her best to assure him that she'll use her sling from now on... knowing she may not be able to resist her maternal need to defend her friends.

Sacro scouts a little further into the room and detects an opening on the far corner, off to the right. Peering down it, the elf spies a closed wooden door after about 40-feet.

Canun sighs loudly as he walks over to AdaRue. "Copper, silver, platinum, gold heal this fool b'fore her blood runs cold." he says as he clutches the flat disk that hangs around her neck. His healing words spoken, AdaRue stirs to life a moment later, feeling nearly back to full strength. "You see that? Raised her from the dead, I did!" he proclaims proudly, before scolding his fellow person of faith. "Don't you know we're the most important members of our group? Let the common folk fight hand to hand. We answer to a higher call!" he chides, pulling a sheet of parchment from his pack and scribbling a few notes on it. AdaRue thanks Canun for his ministrations, and does her best to assure him that she'll use her sling from now on... knowing she may not be able to resist her maternal need to defend her friends.
