Sorry, I thought I did reply to that.

The group is currently only an hour or so outside of Brighton, so we'll just play it as if your elf was dispatched shortly after the main group and caught up to everyone during the goblin interactions.

And, so Canun doesn't accidentally brain him ( ;) ), we'll just assume introductions have been made and he'll be seamlessly introduced and continue on with the group after the dirty business has been taken care of.

Edited last update to include Sacro. onlyme, you can correct me if my assumptions were incorrect, but I listed 'Sleep' as his memorized spell.

Also, feel free to shift his placement in the various marching orders.

I wasn't thinking, and I rebuilt the map for this new plot hook in a new game, instead of a new map in the original game on Roll20 that I had been using -- so I wasn't able to simply copy-and-paste all the tokens used for your characters. I was able to search and find the same token for everyone except AdaRue, which kind of works out since she is now wearing banded armor and carrying a mace instead of a broom, so she was due for a makeover anyway. (I also just now noticed that Dimly has a patch over his eye -- Lol.)

Here are your tokens, zoomed in. I know it's a small detail, and the details don't really show in my maps, but feel free to let me know if you'd like a new token to represent your characters. I own hundreds of them, and can easily search for alternatives.

In the 5-foot marching order:

P.S. And I know this will thrill Zhym, but I am going to reconsider my position on infravision.
LL:10 wrote:"Due to their habit of living underground in great mines,
dwarves have the ability to see in the dark with infravision up
to 60 feet."
Nowhere does it mention heat signatures or anything to that effect; it simply reads "dwarves have the ability to see in the dark."

That said, before I officially do make the change, I will need to consider how to handle mapping. Roll20 handles that pretty easily in a live game, where each character is controlled by a different player (e.g. the player will see only what their character sees), but in a mixed group, where everyone always sees the same thing, I don't think there's a way, and it will be a hassle.

Hmmm, maybe I could create a different account on Roll20, and give control of the human PCs to this second account and leave all other characters able to see in the dark under control of my current account. That way, I could take a snapshot of the map for those with sight via my normal account, then switch to this "new" account and take a picture of the map for those that can't see in the dark, where the vision will limited to just the light sources?

Anyway, just know that this is something being considered.

Okay. I'll settle down now. :)

As far as mapping goes, does Roll20 let you show unlit areas as darker than lit areas but still visible? Then you could avoid having to take two screenshots of each map.

Not really. At least not that I'm aware of. For light sources (which, from a mechanics standpoint, infravision would be considered), there is a "dim" feature. It basically lets you -- well -- dim light sources early (so, a torch with a 30-foot radius could begin to dim at 25-feet instead of abruptly stopping at 30-feet).

I think the multiple accounts will be the most simple solution. That, or just allow humans to benefit from the infravision of those demihumans they're near? That, actually, might be my play here. Even if I did have separate maps (light versus non-light), I would also need to provide separate sets of descriptions. That's just too much work. Besides, looking at the marching orders,
it's all those with infravision up front, and all the humans in back -- and they're carrying the light sources.

I'm thinking, what I'll do, is just "light" all the dwarf and elf characters, and if I ever need to enforce the human limitation, THEN I will worry about flipping the settings.

Okay, decision made. Infravision interpretation added to the house rules.

The most recent update has been updated (e.g. new map, added details to reflect new findings) as a result of the new infravision rule interpretation.

Sorry for a quick rules question, but what's the difference between normal AC and rear AC?

Rear AC doesn't get shield or dexterity bonuses.

Can you clarify which corner you're talking about? To the left, at the top, or to the right, at the bottom?

Disregard.

Because I have the map set up for 5-foot squares, the range of illumination was doubled (so 60-feet range was actually showing 120-feet, and 30-feet was showing 60-feet). After fixing this, the passage to the left further up the passage never actually did come into view.

The group will stick with the passage to the right for now. Update coming soon.

Thanks!

And derp! I did mean the nearest corner on the right. No idea why I typed "left" in there.

Edit: I updated Dimly's character sheet to correct his rear AC (6).

Junius shakes his head and quitely explains,
Its ancient dwarven for pathway or tunnel. I thought everyone knew that. sorry.

What word were actually trying to type there? I was guessing you meant the tunnel, but larh just made me think of... lard. :?

I'm leaving now to attend the Cubs game so if there is an update today, it will be much later tonight. Hopefully those that haven't yet posted an update for their character will have a chance to do so between now and then.
