Update won't come until late tonight.

There will be combat for those in front, so, if you want to provide your own rolls, please get them in (you can edit your original post or create a new one). If they're missing when I go to update tonight, I'll need to make them myself.

They did.

That was Keebler's arrow.

Okay, thanks. I didn't catch that. I'll deduct their arrows from their sheets.

Yes, please.

Technically, per LL 52-53, missile fire happens "first" in the combat sequence (after movement; and before spells, or melee), so if you declare that your character shoots an arrow, if an attack happens that round, please deduct an arrow. I may, for sake of brevity, not include details of every individual attack if the result is a kill/end of battle.

The arrows would still be expended however.

If the rolls are labeled as "if needed," it would be helpful to know if the attacks were made. I don't deduct the missiles from those rolls until I know whether they were used or not.

Going forward, if you declare a ranged attack and combat takes place that round, deduct an arrow. The only way to avoid this expenditure is if combat is completely avoided.

---

Resource management is a factor in my game.

I will try to be more mindful of including details of every attack, but even when every attack is mentioned, it's not always by name. There are like five characters with bows -- if they all fire, I may lump them into a single volley and not detail that Tippin's arrow did this, and Watt's arrow did this, and Junius' arrow did this, etc....

A few notes:
  • Please make sure you're tracking arrows spent. I will start tracking this in the footer of each update as well so we can hold each other accountable.
  • Please take a look at your macros to make sure they are correct. Everyone, at 1st level, should have a 19 THAC0, and any bonuses or penalties should be applied as a modifier to the d20 roll. I did not look at everyone's, but I did notice a few things this round:
    • Watts has his THAC0 listed as 18, and no modifiers. From what I can see, his THAC0 should be 19, and his d20 attack roll should be modified to include his +2 for dexterity (e.g. Long Bow attack (THAC0:19) : [1d20+2], damage: [1d8]).
    • I also noticed Keebler has a +2 bonus on his to hit roll, but I'm not sure where that's coming from?
    • Again, there may be others, so please double-check.
  • For missile attacks, I will apply any range and/or cover bonuses/penalties when ultimately determining the success or failure of an attack attempt; please do not include this bonus in your macro. However, for reference, each square on the combat maps provided is 5-feet. If I ever have your character missing an attack you thought you should have hit with,
please don't hesitate to ask/question the outcome (here in the 'ooc' thread).

I think you're looking at Tippin's roll, not Keebler's. Tippin gets +1 for dexterity and +1 for being a hobbit.

It was a very busy round, with lots of rolls, so I must have confused the two. I did notice Tippin's, but thought I saw them both with +2.

My bad.

Cross-dressing goblins. This game is edgy! 8-)

My bad. I thought his THAC0 was 20 so with the +2 modifier it would be 18. I'll reset the macro so that the THAC0 is unmodified and add the modifier to the roll.

I was trying to find an image of a cross dressed goblin last night, but my allergies impeded the search. I was asleep at 8:30, just after my kids. Glad others noticed the typo/autocorrect.

Actually, a point of clarification here. There is the suspected glue bomb pouch, the stinky pouch, and three others (but the glue bomb is not the rancid smelling one).
Alethan wrote:If you didn't notice, the GM still has us in "rounds" activity. That means there is at least a chance of more fighting in the very near future...
Well, I won't deny that it's possible fighting or another encounter of some kind is in your near future, but sticking in "rounds" mode was admittedly more about ease of time tracking and less a clue of impending conflict.
