He also asks the bishop if he might be allowed to leave the book he brought with him there, hoping the brothers may find use for it while he is out.

Re: Chapel of Baudh
They would be honored to have access to the book, though requesting it's later return is less traditional. They will hold it for you.
The book is in safe keeping and if you die, it is theirs. (This is a special exception, since this book contains knowledge they desire. Churches don't usually act in this way.)
If you chose to donate it (or any item) to a church it is worth XP and if you take it to the Sage it is worth coin.

Brother Hengist will present himself at the Temple upon his arival in Gaul.
I have come north to help spread the light and law of Baudh. Please inform me of how I may best be of service.

Re: Chapel of Baudh
Father Hengist is welcomed by the other clergy and shown to spartan chambers where he can rest and recover himself after his long journey. He discusses what problems are most important to the church at this time (mid July).
The church's primary concern is for further discovery beyond the river to the East. Historical records of the Baudhic church which once held sway over the Yoldessi Plains (the old name for what is across the river) hint at more that could be discovered and restored there. There is also concern as to whether a demon was released there and what that might mean for the region. (Follow-on from the Trial of Bremen, when that thread concludes, as it happened earlier in the timeline and the results would be known by now. Options include: Returning on expedition with Bremen if he is released, exploring the ruins without Bremen to discover truth if he is held/slain, or going with the "ghost trial" expedition now, which is in the region but not connected to Bremen's hearing.)
Supporting the ArchDuke's efforts to secure open tradelines to the south remains important to the church as well, as is recovering the remains of Tyrrell, the fallen cleric of Baudh who died trying to aid this mission against the tower of Guhra the goblin to the south. A group just left to address that, however, which might make the issue moot.

Re: Chapel of Baudh
Pendleton, flush with cash earned as an attorney fee at the Trial of Bremen, returns some of that money to the church. "I am about to embark on a mission to root out demons," he says. "I suspect that holy water and healing potions will be required."
Re: Chapel of Baudh
Approved. Pendleton got paid late from the Trial.

Markd spends some time in the chapel in prayer.
He also donates his father's magical armor, knowing the young clerics might need protection now that the possessed heathen is running loose under the Duke's blessing.
He also tithes some of his share of Platinum.

Erien Laganthe enters the chapel, seeking out an empty pew where he may sit down and pray, reflecting on his life and his future journeys.
Re: Chapel of Baudh
There is buzz in the chapel about the New Artifacts donated and displayed in the chapel - a shield and a dagger, both from the Clelland family of ages past.
Erien Laganthe is greeted by Acolyte Gvene. "Welcome, Father. You are welcome here, as the need is great. You may stay in one of our Chambers if you need - they are austere, but suitable for Baudh's devout. Do you have any questions or needs?"
A cleric can stay in their own church with a private room and normal meals at no cost.

Clint Brockhammer takes residence in the chapel, where his presence helps inspire the people. Some of the women who are suddenly coming to the chapel more often seem particularly inspired.
He asks Keelan where he is needed next.
Edit: He also donates 50 gp to the church.
