Markd quickly looks over Irving, attempting to bind any wounds he may need.

Captain Bremen reloads his crossbow and keeps watch while the others do their respective things. He reclaims his spent quarrel, if possible.

I just realized that we might get a free attack on our fleeing enemies. If so, Bremen would have given a brief pursuit to the end of the corridor (not around the bend though) and struck at one if he could. If possible, here is that roll.
Warhammer of Baudh [1d20+2] = 15+2 = 17, [1d8+3] = 4+3 = 7
I don't know if he would get any bonus for striking from behind.

Yes, you can all hit them in the back as they flee with a +2 bonus to hit. I would assume from the actions taken that you let them flee. If you didn't know you could do so,
feel free to revise.

MArkd quickly fires a shot hoping to hit a fleeing kobald, figuring the fewer they see later the better.

Bandy's one last chance at redemption for this battle...

Shortbow [1d20+2] = 20+2 = 22 Damage [1d6] = 3

Oh, hey! That'll work...

Bremen's axe takes down a kobold as it turns to flee. Markd's arrow flies true into the back of the next one while Bandy's arrow pierces through the side of one kobold's head and into the back of the head of the fourth. The last of the kobolds collapses on himself before they can even reach the corner.

Bremen stands guard while the others search the tiny dog-men slaves for treasure. They find 130 copper coins among the ten kobold's pockets.

The wooden door stands along the left side of the hallway, or the hallway continues on around the bend.

A piss-poor price for a life, remarks Captain Bremen, his disdain of the kobolds clear in his tone. He does not bother picking the coins up. Instead, he kicks their dead bodies out of the way and checks the door for traps and listens for noises on the other side. If it is clear, he checks with the others to see if the want to try entering, letting one of the others take point again, covering with his crossbow.

When we came upon the kobolds, what were they doing at the door? Checking it, leaving through it, trying to get into it?

Markd looks around for any signs of reinforcements. He also checks to see if Irving has shown signs of coming to.

Once Irving comes to, Bandy agrees to open the wooden door, if that is the direction Markd wants to go.

"I know this likely ain't it since we've only been on this crooked path a bit, but maybe there's sommit useful here. We might at least check..."

Bremen thoroughly checks the door before Bandy opens it, Bremen ready with his crossbow.

Inside is a circular room about 25' diameter, the door being the only exit. The middle of the room contains a pool of water in a fountain with a wide iron brazier suspended above it, cold but still bearing ash under a layer of dust. The walls, floor, and ceiling are all lined with dark cedarwood. Benches are attached to the wall around the sides, except on the far end where goods are stacked. Crates, barrels, and a row of hooks reveal a number of sets of clothing of various sizes. Chests have holy symbol of other gods, arrows with their heads darkened by what might be long dried poison, another box containing whips and scourges.

Bandy cautiously enters the room and makes his way to the clothes. He checks to see if any are still in good condition, figuring only something with magic imbued in it might last without rotting...

Captain Bremen asks Irving to hold the door open. He then inspects (without touching) the hanging brazier to see how it is attached to the ceiling, hoping it isn't trapped. He searches the room for hidden doors or cubbies.

if there are any crossbow quarrels available, Bremen will top off his quiver with the best looking ones.

The group searches the place thoroughly, but finds that it has already been looted of precious metals or other valuables which appear to have been previously among the stored goods. Bremen finds no hidden compartments (there is plenty of non-hidden storage) but does have more than enough bolts to refill his quiver and perhaps fill a spare quiver if he wishes. The hanging brazier doesn't appear trapped, but instead a contrivance to allow it to hang closer to the pool of cold water, particularly if steam is desired. Bandy thinks to check the ancient garments for those that show the best resilience to time - it is true that much of the fabric is brittle. Amongst the clothing abandoned here, they find: a pair of knee-high boots of rough leather sized for a large human, a patchwork beggar's cloak with a hood, a steel dagger with an ornate black cat's head pommel, and a breathtaking ruby necklace string with fillagreed gold chain.

Hey Florian, I know you said the idea of a Crooked Path is at odds with Baudh's teachings, but here we are. And the ghost-knight said this is a path for knights only. But what do you make of all these boxes of other gods, poisoned arrows and a beggars cloak?

What say we pack up the dagger, boots and cloak and move on? Detect magic later?

Bremen will take a new quarrel of arrows and too of his other, too. For accounting purposes, will those with dried poison work differently?

Has Irving been healed?

Bandy puts the steel dagger and Ruby necklace into his pack. In order to save space and make it easier to carry, he puts the cloak on. Then he asks, "Can someone carry these boots? A bit too large and bulky for me even just to carry."

Updating inventory with the cloak, dagger, and necklace.
