Earc purchased good meals and lodgings while not inhis tower.

What supplies do Florian and Steven need, if any, before departing? Earc will supply them.

They come with their own weapons and armor. Buy them food. They can help carry any equipment you wish.

At the risk of shilling for Fingers: Do we think it's worth 500 gp to get a look in the tower before we go?

Before they leave town, Earc welcomes the newest member of the group, Hereward, and poses a question to all, "Does everyone have what equipment they want and need? Everyone make sure you have at least a few large sacks, food for a week, torches or lamp oil if you need light, and so on. Our task before us is to clear out the goblin tower. That means killing goblins. If you have a problem with that, best speak up now."

OOC: I believe Halfpint is on the Amazon tour now? So not here, correct?

Olaf dutifully checks his provisions. Out loud. "Eight sacks. Food for a week. Ford for Pony for a week. Buncha candles. Twelve spikes. Me sword and me armor. I be forgetting anything?"

she committed to this one prior to the other one even forming. So, unless you dont want or need her, then she is planning on going.

Oh, excellent! She could certainly be useful on this trip. I think we are going to end up with a fair number of goblins to fight and kill. We will have two healers on the trip, so damage mitigation should be good. And one would hope that if we recover any additional magical items that some will be more appropriately sized for smaller folk since goblins are smaller folk.

Hereward checks his equipment. "I'm good to go. Let's go and restore order to the cosmos, Gwanwen willing." (He's available for birthdays & baptisms).

By the way, just to clear up any confusion, I'm a man. So I'm a man with what sounds like a female username, playing a male character, of possibly androgynous appearance.

I'm assuming 3/4 movement rate. Is anyone carrying over 60lbs?

You rise and set out with the dawn: Three dwarves, a hobbit, a wizard, two clerics, and Steve. You lead Pony the Mule and Bushel the Pony -- travel along the road is easy and you cover the twenty mile stretch by mid-afternoon. You then take the slower trek cross-country through the hills to find the tower. Though you remain wary, nothing assails you. You pause as the sun is setting, knowing you're about an hour / mile away from the tower itself.

What's the plan?

Date: 10:00pm, 29 July 2021
Distance: ~28 miles
Effects: None
Injuries: None

The plan is to go back in the way we went in the first time. How far is the party to the back entrance?

The waterfall is a mile or so Southwest of the tower (the opposite side of the tower.) So, you can circle around in three hours or cut past the tower in two hours. But with night falling, I paused for an explicit plan.

Earc judges how far they are from the waterfall and determines they are still several hours away.

"Let's rest for the night and not chance getting lost wandering the woods looking for the clearing with the waterfall. We'll have shifts of two for two hours each, with Olaf, Funil, and Drunil on separate shifts during the darkest hours because of their dark vision." He looks around at their surroundings and continues, "What do you think, Olaf? Halfpint? Fire or no fire? We can use our magical light sources for light any time we might need it, but we don't really need the smoke and continuous light of a flickering fire..."

Shifts:
1st - Funil and Halfpint
2nd - Olaf and Florian
3rd - Drunil and Hereward
4th - Earc and Steve

"The less conspicuous we are the better. Don't want to attract an unwelcome visitors," says Hereward. "The trees will keep us safe."
