Yes, Earc is crossing the line from "better keep the wizard safe" to "I can flatten that army." :-D Wizards have a pretty exponential power curve that other classes don't and I think it does affect their development.

In any case, I am highly amused by the Guhra's Tower banter.

I have to admit... I didn't think that Amistad yelling at it would be what scared Scatha away.

Is that true?

Must be the spirit of my ancestors empowering the totem and those hours devoted to ritual tai-chi.

I do appreciate when the dice create surprises. :)

I think he's far from flattening armies at the moment. He is surprised by the results of the gnoll encounter, honestly. So am I.

Ear subscribes to the Rules of Syxpeez, an ancient scribe from the Southern Lands who was very careful about what he did and how he went about doing it. Basically, it goes like this:

Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance.

But he had a lot of help with good dice rolls, re: the gnolls.

I'm totally stealing this name idea from myself, by the way, in case Earc creates any new spells.

But it might evolve into Zyxpeez. That sounds like an awesome name for a magic user.

Pendleton speaks common, elvish, dwarf, and dragon. But what are the odds we'll ever need to talk with a dragon? ;)

"Lady Fochelle has a certain ring to it my Lord. However I feel my vocations will take me beyond the known frontiers. I would be pleased however to learn the Duke has apportioned some wild field to the care and nurture of Badger - priest, Clay of Beith."

She bows again to the Lords and ladies and departs for the tavern.
Awww... Shucks!

There isn't anything stopping a character from having adventures once they accept a knights. You just get a vassal (with a great CHA?) to run the operations, leaving Foxy to run around to find take to fund the place.

She could open the first spa of the north! Grab a hotspring and build around it. Charge admission for a trip to Ms. O'Hare's Bathhouse and spa. How some of those northern matrons to scrub folks down with a loofah... Do they shampoo furry beasts?
Add in a small infirmary for Eruanna...

Marullus, if a character becomes a knight, they aren't converting, are they? Just acknowledging that Baudhic cast system, perhaps?

Anyone can be landed. To be a Knight, though, requires a greater dedication to Law (in the form of worshipping Baudh).

(Similar to in Game of Thrones; you could be a Lord in the North, but still not knighted or allowed to be a 'Ser' until you gave up the Old God's for the Seven.)

When I see those six words, I think, "... anyone can die at any time."

Zhym wrote:Huh. For some reason, I thought the rule that negative HP means "bleeding out, but can be saved" applied only to PCs.
Generally that's true, but more due to circumstance. There's few occasions where a party would WANT to beat an enemy to death only to use healing magic to revive them. It is possible, though. PCs that don't want to cause death have the same options. (Thus, it comes up more often with followers of Beith around.)
