Baxtaw keeps his bow ready in case they are discovered by a wandering goblin. Best to finish that one off. We dont need him anymore.

Drums to the right and left, places for goblins to strike from, same for the stone table. Remember the King has a massive hellhound. Any bodies in the blood and gore, thinking some sacrifice has been made to raise the skeleton warriors?

what is our hp and magic status? It would be best to advance knowing what limits we have.

Bow drawn Foxy moves cautiously to the left using crates or barrels to snipe from. Wasn't there a balcony of kind in the room?

Clay does smiles kindly at the cleric beneath him. As you lived, so you shall die. But know this. You shall stay dead. Morr... Attack. In the flash of an eye, the goblin's throat is ripped out. Clay retrieves his coin purse, searches the body carefully and then asks one of the others to remove the cleric's head before pushing the corpse into the last of the oil in the hallway (or one of the braziers int he other room). He'll do the same with the other bodies around, pointing out there is no need to fight them twice.

Morr [1d20] = 15, damage [1d6+1] = 4+1 = 5

Marullus mentioned several sources of fire. Any of those will do.

Marullus, didn't Clay find a couple of scrolls a while back in the cave? Apparently I didn't update my character sheet ( :oops: I know, already! :cry: ) and the current US.net server issues are making it difficult to locate that.

Found it: "a Clerical Scroll with two clerical spells (cause fear, symbol of pain)"

After burning the bodies, Clay addresses Ms. O'Hare's (unspoken) question, explaining he can still cast CLW twice, and Hold Person and Entangle once each. He also has a Clerical Scroll with two clerical spells (cause fear, symbol of pain).

Additionally, he has his holy symbol (able to turn skeletons without a check, but need to roll 2d6 for the # of HP worth that are turned) and his amethyst, which can help find food/water.

She can see Morr is at full health (15/15) and Clay is almost full (15-18/23) health.


I'll let Marullus clarify the exact amount of Clay's wounds though. Sorry for the double post - I blame the US.net server.

Rolling a barrel down the hall might prove a distraction for anything living. They might prefer food to a fight. But it would be loud, for certain.

Baxtaw- hearing Clay tell Ms O' Hare what spells he has left for the big battle. He tells them what he has left. The I left to help us are. Magic Missile x2, Sleep.

Does magic missile work the same way in Lab Lord as D&D? A d6 per level of the magic user?

A missile of magical energy darts forth from the caster's fingertip and strikes its target, dealing 1d6+1 points of damage. The missile strikes unerringly, even if the target is in melee combat or has less than total cover or total concealment. Specific parts of a creature can't be singled out. For every five caster levels, the caster gains two additional missiles·3 total at 5th level, five at 10th, seven at 15th, and so on. If the caster can shoot multiple missiles, they can be directed to strike a single creature or several creatures. A single missile can strike only one creature.
One thing to note is that the spell has a duration of 1 turn, so Marullus has been playing it so you can cast it ahead of time and carry it with you, sending the missile later. See the Kobold thread for an example: on the most recent 2-3 pages, Idriss cast the spell, then climbed up a rope and launched it, hands free. Likewise, Eric cast MM, then went underwater and launched it once he could see a dragon.

Halfpint mentions that she is certainly nursing a wound, and another one like that might finish her off. But, she knows she is safer with the group.

This chamber is the one on the right side of the hallway, where the bear ran in. "This is a temple," explains Shortbread, "Common in any proper dwarfhome. They allow the worship of any, well, any proper dwarven diety. This Sdubok is foul." Goblins initially poured out of both the left and right doorways, but as they are slain and fled you see little sign of more followers of Sdubok here. The chamber has the typical mess of a goblin warren despite its size and it would seem that the cluster of goblins who aligned with Dmukaz and Sdubok resided here.

The chamber with the Goblin King is expected, both by Foxy's recollection and Dmukaz's last words, to be down the sloping hallway to its end, as the great hallway terminates at the throne room, not the temple.

Clay has his dog viciously rip out the throat of the prostrate goblin, adding to the bloody mess, then takes back the pouch of coins which he paid the goblin for its knowledge. He mounds the goblin bodies in the oil fire which continues to rage behind you in the hallway, turning it into a smouldering, smoky pyre of goblin-flesh. Thankfully, the fumes are drafting upwards in the hallway and do not impune your lungs.

Your plan to assault the king's chamber?

Foxy will take a guard position. bow in hand by the archway leading to the Kings Chamber. "Perhaps we can make this hall a defensible place too should the goblins try and assault us first." she suggests and thinking of moving the drum kits and barrels to block passageway by goblins seeking to follow us down the passage we came from.

I am sure the goblins who escape are down in the kings chamber so he is warned we are here, we shouldn't just run into a trap and so need to think carefully though time is against us and the brave dwarves outside. Maybe someone with some sneaky skills could creep down the hallway in the shadows and take a peek without being seen? Any volunteers?

To be honest, I think our plan was for the dwarves's mission to pretty much wipe the place clear, so we would be facing only the king.

The Grizzly Woman stands guard at the rear of the party with the bear while Halfpint scouts ahead.

She retrieves The Good Knife and looks at it curiously, content to let the bear sniff out any approaching danger. She tries slicing a goblin corpse with it before they get burned up, scrapes the stone wall with it, pricks her own finger and even drops it several times to see if it lands facing a particular direction.

The party waits while Halfpint scouts ahead, following the dubiously long-held tradition of sending the hobbit into the dwarven ruins first. Baxtaw stands poised, words of his spells ready on his lips, should there be any surprises. The Grizzly Woman retrieves her Good Knife, experimentally poking walls and corpses with it while they wait, but she observes nothing untoward in its functioning.

Halfpint descends the hallway, passing out of sight in the darkness...
You descend along the length of the hallway making your way in the darkness, finding no more branching doorways until it finally opens into a large chamber. Two brazier-fires burn, throwing light up to a ceiling 30' above, supported by tall pillars - functional but unornamented, throughout the room. About three dozen goblins scurry about the room, six archers standing on a pair of balconies with partially-collapsed railings on either side, arrows pointed at the entrance where you hide. A stone platform sits at the far end of the hall (which is about 120' across in total), a fat goblin with an imperious demeanor sitting upon a carved stone throne that is twice his size. A leathery hound shifts its bulk, its chain clinking as it slithers on the floor; the creature rests next to the throne and is about the size of a pony, watching every goblins' movement in the room with its alert eyes. The four spearmen and injured acolyte who escaped you cluster around the throne, chattering at the Goblin King, who listens disinterestedly, his eyes looking your direction.

Your foot scrapes on a stone, abruptly drawing attention of those in the room to the entryway where you crouch in the shadows.

Halfpint hiding [1d6] = 6
Clay Weatherwax examines what was taken off the dead goblins before consigning them to the pyre. He does find that the priests carried scrolls and he takes time to examine them. The slain acolytes and Dmukaz all had goblin-forged electrum bangle bracelets, together weighing about two and a half pounds. Dmukaz also wore a dwarf-forged electrum circlet on his head. The two dead acolytes each had a scroll of Resist Fire. (x2 scrolls) Dmukaz had a scroll with Resist Fire and Delay Poison.

Halfpint comes sprinting up the hallway back into the group's view, her breath coming raggedly. Nothing seems to be pursuing her, however.
