Earc is tentatively fine with his assignment for now. It will depend on what they take back from the troll haul (if they make it back) and what sort of research he might need to do for the potions and anything else they find. And it might also depend on what he hears about the goblin situation upon his return. The raid directly impacts him with the loss of available spell components and such. He might want to investigate that further before exploring the rivers and forests north.

Bandy is good with continuing with Markd.

Earc would very much be opposed to more than two additional party members and especially to linking it up with a much larger group with a dedicated mission. (As far as campaign rules go, I already have a character in that group anyway, so it isn't even a question of doing it; Earc can't do it.)

This is just a small exploration group and a small raft (not yet made, but it will be small). At least that is how Earc sees it. If Amistad has ideas about a large exploration group, then Earc would rethink joining it. Large groups can be safer, but they have plenty of faults - slower (both with movement and with decision making), less XP per person, less treasure per person. I think an exploration group is going to already have a lower amount of treasure and XP.

I'll say you can commission a canoe that is 30' long, 3' wide, weights 120lbs (+60lbs each for two guys) and carries 1800lbs or 6 passengers. It will take three weeks and 600gp to make. It will be wood-framed with birch bark skin, so far easier to damage than a proper riverboat (which accounts for the reduced costs).

I sent a photo of the sort of Hiawatha style frontier canoe as few weeks ago. For another hundred gold we can strengthen the hull and fit a flotsam plough to divert stuff as we will be paddling up river. We have to pack light enough to carry all our supplies and kit and the canoe when needed.

Ideally, as no sponsor has come forward, we all donate an equal amount into expedition funds to cover the cost rather than Amistad funding it all.

Presently the canoe building is in hold while Ami and Earc are off cave exploring. We have at least one retainer, Half-pint and dog can take another space, have approached a couple with a view to starting this expedition at the middle of June, (time to build it and also heal up/study) plenty if time if folk want to go and comeback somewhere else.

If Fingers (or anyone else) comes on the Goblin adventure, Clay would break off and go to the tower with him later. Clay won't be chasing after the mages.

Anyone going to the Order of Monoc needs to be ready to fight wizards of Foxy is with them!

Idriss

Expects any trip to the goblin hole to take no more than a few days. He has a partial map of the place and some knowledge of 1st level encounters. The second level is home to maybe a goblin gang and a lair of infernal creatures. Some ancient shrines are inside. He expects physical and magical traps, poisonous spores or fungi and a root cause of goblin/human defilement. The greatest treasure may be knowledge gained.

Idriss seeks any clerics, rogues or warrior types. Plenty of flammable oil and range attacks will be necessary. He will go with three if ready, preferably more.

With Fingers's return trip to the kobold tower going nowhere, I'm going to put Fingers (and Olaf) on the bench for now.
