OOC Chatter I
Re: OOC Chatter I
I have considered getting the actual books - is it worthwhile?Valdus wrote:I purchased Labyrinth Lord (I just had to see the art) in pdf, and I am rather astonished and comforted by how simple and elegant the rules once were and thanks to this system, still are. It was even a comfort to see that great font once again.

I am thinking about getting the book too, but a physical copy won't have all the revisions and updates like the pdf.

You could take the HarnMaster approach and print a copy yourself on lightweight card stock, hole punched in a heavy duty binder. That way if the PDF you bought ever has an update, you can simply switch out the page in question.Valdus wrote:I am thinking about getting the book too, but a physical copy won't have all the revisions and updates like the pdf.

Thank you all for your patience! I've finished some deadlines at work, recovered from some surgery, and finally got up this morning with enough time and energy to update everyone's threads. I have the next week off for vacation with my daughter - I don't know that will mean more or less time online as we truck around the eastern seaboard, but I'll make updates as often as I can. Keep the posts coming!

Wow, hope you keep feeling better and enjoy the travel.
Did anyone return with Dabney?

I will post a wrap-up for you.
Re: OOC Chatter I
Thanks! I am recovering well (though Percocet is helpful). Today was my daughter's birthday, so long and immensely eventful.Fearghus wrote:Wow, hope you keep feeling better and enjoy the travel.
Tomorrow I trek back across four states to home with my clan in the car, possibly with a stop to see where ice cream comes from.
I am making updates when I can - the chance of it happening are inversely proportional to the complexity the response requires.

Enjoy the drive. Especially the ka-thump-ka-thump-ka-thump-ka-thump-ka-thump-ka-thump-ka-thump of I-80 through PA.
And ice cream comes from Vermont, dude. Ben and Jerry's.

Glad to read you are doing better and managing the pain. I love ice cream, so I hope you made the stop.

I'll be away at a festival through Sunday night. I'll try to post, but probably not. NPC as needed.

Good thing we didn't try using that headdress to steal the chicken-lizard's golden eggs!Marullus wrote:Headdress of Loyalty:

Re: OOC Chatter I
Indeed. But not sure what Rhybek is going to do with it. He isn't likely to hire any or many hirelings. Maybe he'll just post it up for sale. Earc might look a bit of a goof with it on, but he does have perpetual hirelings at Toll's Tower and he does hire hirelings.Zhym wrote:Good thing we didn't try using that headdress to steal the chicken-lizard's golden eggs!Marullus wrote:Headdress of Loyalty:

It is a very plausible next-power to invest in for it.Zhym wrote:Good thing we didn't try using that headdress to steal the chicken-lizard's golden eggs!
Re: OOC Chatter I
True. Rhybek already has an ax he needs to invest in, though. But yeah, for someone else to consider...Marullus wrote:It is a very plausible next-power to invest in for it.Zhym wrote:Good thing we didn't try using that headdress to steal the chicken-lizard's golden eggs!

I think Rhybek should embrace it as a fashion accessory.
Re: OOC Chatter I
I mean.... The Kardashians did it.
Re: OOC Chatter I
Yeah... this is why it's so difficult for me to envision one of my PCs wearing it!!!

It's always fun to see when players let aesthetic aspects of a magic item get in the way of using it.
"It's a pink bikini of ogre strength and magic resistance, equivalent to +3 plate mail but almost weightless. Will your half-orc fighter Gorg The Macho wear it?"
"Um...pass."
