Happy late birthday, dude!

Travix over-shared: I'm starting to crave salted and cured intestine wrapped logs of ground meat."

So much of that phrase just makes me feel ill. <-- That queasiness, not embarrassment.

People say that it is good to get back to your roots every now and again. :D

So, I will soon be making my annual pilgrimage down to the promised land in Lake Geneva Wisconsin. The very place where every one of these games that we all love so much originated.

That's right.......it is time once again for GARYCON!!!

I will still post if and when I get the time, but my usual rate will be considerably less than normal for the next 5 days or so.

I will be back once the excitement (and the brainfuzz from all the Spotted Cow) wears off.

Yeah, I'm a little envious myself. Have a blast. Hope you have great stories of your experience- the kind that start with "It was so much fun when..." and not "You wouldn't believe what some asshole did...". It's a convention so I'm sure both are possible.

Now where were we in the game? Oh, that's right: Travix takes point!

I've seen some bad to be sure, but no major issues this year. :D

FYI

I am heading out on vacation for a couple of weeks.

I will still try to post when I can, but I might miss a day or two here and there.

Back on 5/6.

Hey guys,

I've wrestled with this decision for quite some time, but I'm going to have to take a break from the boards.

Kids, job, and real life in general are leaving me with no time to properly post and play the way that I would like. I have really had a great time DMing and playing here on US in the past year and a half, and hopefully I will be able to return at some point.

Take care and thank you for your storytelling and creativity,

~Mark

It truly pains me to lose Mant72. Regardless of how this makes me sound, I am not inclined to open a public casting call for a replacement. Let's discretely chalk it up to narrow-mindedness on my part and some less than positive experiences here. I'd rather be an asshole and maintain the integrity of the campaign.

But I am open to suggestions. I want to continue this game but it is not solely up to me. Do the three of you want to continue? And if so, how would you like to handle the vacancy? Any specific people you think would be good to invite who would be a good fit here? Just one invitation? Two? NPC the runt or introduce a more generic guard-at-arms NPC? Just have a lower party count? The table is open for discussion on options.

I like this game.

However, I for one am not a big fan of jumping into an ongoing game for many reasons.

I will be here for whatever you decide, but I know that a game can really lose momentum once new factions are tossed into them.

I think that things like this should be left up to the discretion of the one running the game.

Sorry, that probably doesn't help you out much. :(

I'm definitely all for keeping the game going—I'd really like to crack some of the overarching mysteries.

In my campaign, we've been pretty liberal with trading characters in and out, but it's a wackier game that lends itself to sudden shifts and reversals. I agree that this campaign, with it's solid grounding in character, requires a more careful tending.

That said, we're in a fairly decent place to bring in a new character, being at a civilized outpost. We could surely come up with some reason for a hobbit to decide to stay behind in a town with extraordinary sausages, and I'm equally sure that our waitress is not the only person here who'd be eager for a ticket out of town.
