Unable to reach the top of the storeroom shelving, Hex settles on securing his candle on one of the middle shelves. He drips wax into a small pool, plants his candle, and begins prying open the crates with his dagger. The candlelight flits erratically as he rummages through the straw used for packaging, and he uncovers the following:

11 tapered candles
3 boxes of stale incense
5 holy symbols of Lunia
3 aspergillums
A silver candelabra that the illusionist deems to be worth about 75 gp.

Meanwhile, outside the storeroom, questions surface about the newly acquired religious items. Wil suggests the relics might be magical in nature, and Aric uses his barbarian intuition to detect any enchantments associated with the chalices. He believes the cups to be untainted by witchery and promptly returns them to his pack.

Yon attempts to reason with Aric, assuring the reiver that he will receive his fair share of the wealth once the chalices are properly returned to the Church of Lunia. The young priest then turns to Kragg and offers to safeguard the monstrance as well.

Osprey stands by silently, reflecting on the recent encounter with the stone sentinel and harboring reservations about tampering with the holy objects. The elven warrior-mage continues to ponder the significance of the hall lined with strange masks.

Phineas ruminates on the hypocrisy of religion then decides to crack open the door to the north, taking care to shield himself in the process. Nothing bolts forth to devour the curious halfling, so he peers around the door’s edge. His infravision permits him see 30’ into the distance, and he notices a rubble littered hallway that extends into darkness.

Aric steps past Phineas and brashly passes through the doorway. The northman’s torchlight reveals chunks of rubble and darkness ahead.

Kragg brandishes his scimitar and waits to see what is to come.

- Can I get an account of light sources that are being used? I know Hex has a candle, and I think Aric and Kragg have torches. Thanks!

Aric pauses and looks up, wondering if the ceiling is sound.

He holds the torch out to see as far as the light shines.

Hex will put some recently found candles, and his one, into the silver candelabra, and gather the other things into his pack. He will pop one of the holy symbols over his head to wear it, and offer the other ones to other members, thinking it might be wise.

Before he leaves the storeroom the halfling prestigidator will tap the walls carefully with his dagger searching for secret doors. If none arefiund he will follow the others into the north corridor

Osprey asks Hex for two of the found candles before he puts them in his pack. Osprey does not light them yet but thinks they may come in handy.

Hexalon collects the items from the crates, unsuccessfully searches the storeroom for secret doors, then rejoins the others. The illusionist offers to share the spoils, and Osprey takes him up on his offer by accepting two of the candles.

Kragg willingly hands over the monstrance to Yon; the sun priest graciously accepts and reverently stores the relic in his pack.

The group reconvenes with Aric and Phineas at the northern corridor. Phineas follows Aric's lead, steps over the threshold, and keeps an attentive eye out for sanctuary among the shadows.

Aric takes note of the rubble on the floor and pauses to consider the ceiling's stability. He thrusts his torch forward, and it illuminates a corridor choked with stone. Further down the hallway, the ceiling appears to have completely collapsed; large portions of fallen rock have rendered the passage impassable. The area ahead looks extremely unsound, and there appears to be no way to proceed any further beyond this point.

P.T. Codswallop, halfling impresario:

"I am utterly mystified and discombobulated!" stated Phineas in consternation. "Perhaps I imagined the whole thing!"

"Well. This level seems clear. Shall we ascend yonder stairs now?"

"It seems we have little choice, yes yes yes" the illusionist says gently, but before he does turn he will try and prod one of the pieces of rubble with his dagger to see if it is real. If so he will throw it carefully into the rest to see if that is real as well

Hex prods a nearby piece of rubble with his dagger, testing to see if the stone is indeed a thing of substance. The illusionist finds that it is quite real. He then hefts the stone and tosses it down the hall. It clinks and clatters against the larger blocks before coming to rest on the corridor tiles.

Aric, barbarian

"Aye, no profit in stone rubble. Let us see where the north hallway in the central chamber (#5) leads."

On the way out the barbarian looks more closely at the masks.

Osprey thinks to try looking for secret passages in the hall on this side of the rubble just in case there could be another way through. He listens carefully while searching to see if the sounds return.

The inability to locate the source of the weeping confounds the group, and some of the adventurers believe the collapsed corridor in which they now stand is merely an illusion. After some testing, the hall's reality is confirmed, and before leaving the rubble strewn passage, Osprey checks for hidden doors. He is certain there are none, as his extensive search yields nothing.

The party then makes their way back into the antechamber (5). The statue of Lunia that stands in the center of the room continues to exude a commanding presence, and although its gouged eye sockets do add a sense of the macabre, they do little to detract from the statuary's overall beauty and craftsmanship.

Aric strides over to the unexplored northern passage. The darkness there is far from inviting; however, this does not dampen the barbarian's desire for discovering more loot.

Phineas suggests the group explore the ascending stairs to the south. They rise about 25 feet only to end abruptly into the ceiling, where there is believed to be a trapdoor.
