We shouldn't tarry here long. There are dangers that will undoubtedly find us here. Let's move on to the next building to the east.

Re: Chapter 4 > Thundertree
Building #5:
This ruin looks as if it might once have been a farmhouse. It is now half swallowed by a dense thicket, with trees growing up through its ruined foundations. The lane continues south a short distance past the ruin before ending in an overgrown field. Clumps of gorse and thick bushes grow around the house.
Buiding #4 is where you started > the druid's cabin. But you can still search it.

I think we should search the druid's cabin (4) just in case we find a clue to what we seek or something that may help us on our way.

Ioriston agrees.
Let's move on to the final building, the Druid's residence. After that, we should head to Neverwinter for Flora's offspring.

"After properly taking care of the poor druid's remains, of course," replies Gerland to Ioriston's suggestion.

Kelton nods somberly at the words of Gerland.
I agree. He gave his life for us and I for one will not rest easy until our task is complete.
He follows the others inside to investigate the druids humble home.

Re: Chapter 4 > Thundertree
Uilon sees horses tied to a wagon as he approaches Thundertree from the southwest, and wonders why loggers would leave the animals so exposed. The 30-year-old human slowly walks to the horses, unties them, and says "You're free now - I'd suggest you find cover before the dragon finds you."
He remembers his mentor's warnings about the large spiders in the ruins at the base of the hill, and keeps to the left of the path. Uilon walks slowly, to prevent the large pieces of dried darkwood bark he found, now tied to the top of his backpack, from making too much noise and attracting ash zombies. Reidoth had said that it wouldn't be too difficult to avoid them, as long as he didn't make a ruckus.
Approaching where Reidoth said he occasionally stayed, Uilon stops in his tracks when he sees the bodies of men in masks and cloaks.
He whispers "Reidoth, are you theeere? It's me, WHEEL-on."

Re: Chapter 4 > Thundertree
Kelton makes the face when he hears someone speaking outside the druids home.
Hey! Did you guys hear that? It sounds like someone is out there looking to find Reidoth. I hope he is friendly.
The Eldritch Knight makes his way to an outside window to have a peek at this stranger looking for the dead Druid.

The voice makes him immediately think "cultist" and he goes on the alert. Bow at the ready, he slides to get some cover and looks for targets. But a cultist wouldn't be on friendly terms with the druid, right? Or maybe...it's a trap!

Uilon puts down his backpack, picks up his quarterstaff again, grips his shield tightly, and approaches cautiously.
The tall, mahogany skinned druid, wearing the greenish-brown traveling clothes common of his class, spots the burnt furrow and hole in the roof, and the open door. He rushes in, and in Druidic shouts "Reidoth, are you..."

Re: Chapter 4 > Thundertree
The druid's home is quite simple > table and two chairs, a small pallet on the floor near the window. Lots of cobwebs and some dried leaves lying about the floor. A cold fireplace with a good bit of wood and sticks stacked nearby.OGRE MAGE wrote:Kelton nods somberly at the words of Gerland.
I agree. He gave his life for us and I for one will not rest easy until our task is complete.
He follows the others inside to investigate the druids humble home.
Suddenly, a voice can be heard from somewhere outside the house! Kelton's eyes nearly bulge out of his head and moves to a window to try and see what is out there...but the windows are shuttered. However, Kelton is able to see the outline of a figure pretty close to the house. Hey! Did you guys hear that? It sounds like someone is out there looking to find Reidoth. I hope he is friendly.
Aslaan slides behind the table for cover, bow ready > he wonders if more cultists could have showed up. As he wonders, a tall, mahogany-skinned man, wearing greenish-brown clothes and carrying a shield and staff, comes rushing in.
He shouts something in a dialect neither Aslaan or Kelton recognize, but clearly, the man is upset.
Gerland and Ioriston haven't moved and are standing right out in the open looking at the strange fellow who just came rushing inside the druid's cabin. The three gape at one another for a moment...perhaps waiting on someone to say something...
Winter is coming...

Foes don't just appear and call out.
Ioriston calls out to the mysterious stranger.
Friend! Be not afraid, but if you are seeking the Druid, we have some grave and sad news to share with you.
Ioriston patiently awaits a response.

Uilon lowers his quarterstaff when he sees the elf, but keeps his shield up. When he hears the elf, his face falls.
He looks more closely over the bodies on the floor: a large, burnt fighter, and more masked men. "How did Reidoth... Where is his body?"

Re: Chapter 4 > Thundertree
"He fell prey to a giant spider. It's venom was too much for him."replies Gerland as he gestures outside int he direction of he druids body. "His body is still out there. We were getting ready to go tend to it. Was he a friend of yours?"
