Fyi, Only the southern door, that leads to the earthen tunnels, has a crossbar 'system.'

The northwest door opens into this room, and has no lock or crossbar.

The trapdoor in the ceiling opens upward into Beswill's bedroom, and also has no lock.

The door had a bar on it the last time I was down here and I secured it. If it was a goof we can precede with no lock and Hoom can be using the bar from the South door as a wedge to hold the west door shut.

Thanks for pointing that out. You're right.
It was a goof, but it was my mistake. So I'll say the southern and western doors can both be barred.

Hoom bars the western door.
Bo leaves through the southern door with your only active light source.

Do you shut the southern door?
What's your new light source? The unlit candles in this room, or something else?

I thought I stated that I relit the candle before leaving but now I don't see that post. (I'm old and forgetful :D )

At any rate, Bo could pop back in and relight it so the others aren't too afraid while they wait. (if I'm not locked out already)

Hoom only closed and barred the Northwest Door A.K.A. the secret door leading to the rest of the basement. The southern door should still be open unless Mouser or Bo shut it. Hoom was in the process of barring the northwest door when Bo left them in the dark.

I think I miss read the map when I posted that. There looked to be a door at the north but I think that is just a table. Please alter it so Hoom does not close the door to the south, unless Mouser wishes to close it in which case Hoom does not stop him. Sorry for the confusion.

You could alway make the door close on it's own. I'm pretty sure somewhere in the rules all dungeon doors in 1st edition close on their own if they aren't spiked open.

I saw that again in the DMG just last week, on p. 97. It actually says all doors are hard to keep open (or closed) for the party. All dungeon inhabitants have no problem opening and closing doors.

This kind of stuff makes it hard to play by the book.

Please, NPC Ingrid. She will engage in HtH combat, and she also has two 1st lvl spell slots - that's two Cure Light Wounds if needed (I hope Remove Fear won't be needed! But it's there...)
