Unspeakable Oaths (ooc and questions ll)
Re: Unspeakable Oaths (ooc and questions ll)
Practice makes perfect.
Everyone,
My last DM post was almost 4 days ago. I still need IC replies from Hoom, Mouser, Pelias and Urdur in order to move it along.
Thanks!

Thanks, Dads and Socratic.
I'll give Ale and Ron until the morning, then I have to move it along.
Socratic: I'll say you can spill oil and throw 2 daggers this time, but you can't also move after that in the same round. Next round.
Dads:
Thanks.

Lead by Mouser, they leave the cave of cages; the place they never thought they would leave again... alive.
Thanks.

Re: Unspeakable Oaths (ooc and questions ll)
I assume that the goblins pushed over the edge by Borhino were replaced by new goblins? Or are those legacy goblins?
Re: Unspeakable Oaths (ooc and questions ll)
They're all there so Grothnak and Pelias can be awesomely heroic, cutting through them four at a time.

Goblins G2 and G3 were killed by Bo the Rhino, here: viewtopic.php?p=290692#p290692ChubbyPixie wrote:I assume that the goblins pushed over the edge by Borhino were replaced by new goblins? Or are those legacy goblins?
They're still dead in my latest post. You can see them at the bottom of the shaft, the two red smudges in the SW quadrant of the floor:
While the heroes fought the fiery skeletons, the remaining 6 goblins (G1, G4, G5, G6, G7 and G8) spread out.

Whew... I thought they were multiplying... forgot there were 8 to begin with.

Moving it along.
ToniXX, please post two actions for Avril this round, so she can catch up.
Thanks!

OOC goes in spoilers please, or in this thread.rredmond wrote: Rolls and OOC go in SPOILER tags, right?
Rolls don't have to. Player's choice.
Re: Unspeakable Oaths (ooc and questions ll)
Hi. Grothnak is too far from G1 to attack with his halberd. He charged last round, so he can't charge again for some time.Zhym wrote:Grothnak
If necessary, he helps dispatch the remaining goblin on the stairs. When that goblin is dead, he waits for Pelias and Bo so they can proceed against the goblin zombies together.
Vadok (Halberd +1) (THAC0 18): [1d20+2] = 12+2 = 14, Dmg [1d10+4] = 8+4 = 12 (S/M) [2d6+4] = 7+4 = 11 (L)
He can 'close to striking range,' attack with his bow, or do something else. Thanks.
I'll have to rule 'no.' Here's why:Zhym wrote: Do raised dead count as summoned or conjured for purposes of a paladin's Protection from Evil aura?
- -The spell description carefully lists all the creatures it affects, and zombies aren't included even though they are always animated by magic.
-These goblin zombies aren't 'summoned' from a 'Monster Summoning I' or 'Summon Insects' sort of conjuration/summoning spell. They are animated by a necromantic spell.
-There's nothing in the Monster Manual mentioning it either, like there is for ghouls.
You still have a cleric within earshot, though.

Thanks. I've edited my post.

Thanks, Zhym.
Yes, Mouser cast Feather Fall earlier in a daring escape.rredmond wrote:Grey Mouser, 1/2 elven MU/T
Also, I've already cast my spell for the day? (Hopefully I haven't asked that yet )
Re: Unspeakable Oaths (ooc and questions ll)
At least I was daring!
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Re: Unspeakable Oaths (ooc and questions ll)
So why when firing missile weapons upwards their range is doubled, and downwards the range is halved? Seems like that should be reversed?

Sorry that I was unclear. I think we're saying the same thing.
When firing up, instead of firing at a range of 3", you are effectively firing at a range of 6" for purposes of calculating the negative modifiers to hit, based on the medium and long ranges for your weapon.
Re: Unspeakable Oaths (ooc and questions ll)
Ha, no worries. I'm not even shooting, but was curious about that detail.
Thanks!

Urdur retrieves as many of his thrown daggers as possible...
Two daggers are still in A1, who fell to the bottom of the stairwell shaft.
The third dagger is nearby, on the steps by A4.
Which daggers is Urdur collecting? Thanks.

He'll leave the two at the bottom, hoping to return for them later. He'll pick up the one by the stairs.
How do we know you're not a donkey-brained man?
