Right. I'm not sure he could get it all in one scoop, but maybe a lot in one segment? See below for reference on what I was visualizing.

I leave it to you how efficiently he can manage. If it won't work at all he'll resort to plan B from my last post.

Does anyone have blankets to throw on the fires? I didn't think to equip Grothnak with one for some reason.

Probably because blankets are un-orcish or something.

I don't suppose there are rain barrels or such around the barn?

Thank you for this.

Assuming she has the right to deviate from her plan if the situation dictates it, Avril will invest the two minutes to make her leather armor wearable (and not leave it behind in a burning barn). She will re-evaluate whether the extra two minutes to make it battle ready will be worth it at that time.

We do have a druid. Think we could keep the fires under control for 15 minutes while Bo crams Affect Normal Fires? ;)

Never mind. Affect Normal Fires is an MU spell.

How far are the corn fields from the barn?

Are there windows like in the picture posted previously?

Thanks.

I am keeping my action as is. 3 rounds to put on my studded leather armor so it won't fall off.

Hi,

Chubby: Got it. Your plan A is workable. As you say, you won't get an entire 6 x 6 bonfire, but certainly a portion of one. Thanks for the video. :)

Zhym: As you guys entered the barn you saw two big, oaken rain barrels outside the barn, one at each northern corner. You can probably assume there are two more on the southern corners. By now they should all be overflowing. Pitchforks, farming tools, rain barrels. It seems that when the Book family abandoned this place, they did so in a hurry, leaving much behind.

Grog: There are windows, but not in any horse stall. There are two windows on the north wall, one on either side of the door. There are two windows on the south wall, symmetrical to the north wall's placement. There are two windows on the east wall, bracketing the shut, eastern door. They don't have glass, but have two wooden shutters each...
the Decrepit Farmhouse and Barn (17). Doors and shutters swing freely here,
Shutters: 1=open , 2=shut, 3-4=half open. North 1:[1d4] = 2, North 2:[1d4] = 1
The North window, on the east side of the door, is completely open. It's twin is shuttered.
East 1:[1d4] = 2, East 2:[1d4] = 2, South 1: [1d4] = 1, South 2: [1d4] = 4
Both East windows are shuttered. The South window, on the east side, is completely open. It's twin is half open.

The edge of the 7' tall cornfield is 20 feet from the barn. It stretches east and south for acres. The attached map shows the cornfield in pale blue. Your barn is the big building south of the abandoned farmhouse (17).

Dads and Dave: Roger that. You spend next round putting on your armor. If you wish to divert from that plan on the following round, that's fine. Thanks.

Fyi, also, within each round, anyone can alter their actions until the final PC action is posted. Then I get cracking on the next DM post.

Druid Entangle a south or east area and we make a run out of the death trap? Wedge formation into the corn and out into wilderness. They will continue to watch and harrass us in town.

There could be dozens out there who can bide there time and plan. There could be traps set out.

I kind of agree we should get out of town. Where could we go here that'd be safe? We can't avoid them knowing where we are. In fact, to survive, we'll probably need to keep running until we get to the next module over... ;)

Maybe we could find a nice dungeon or orc lair to hide in. It'd probably be safer than this town, anyway. :D

Barring that—are any of the structures in this town made of stone?

Happy Friday the 13th.

Chub: Outside of town, you saw farms as you approached Briarsgate from the Dim Forest to the west. Beyond those farms are unforested plains dotted with cottonwood trees.

Zhym: I don't know yet if he can or can't, but what does Grothnak do if he can't exit the southern door? Thanks.

The following buildings in Briarsgate are made of stone:
  • Inferno wrote: The Constables' Quarters (2) is a nondescript, square, stone building with a heavy door and window shutters. Within might be found Magistrate Grover Ruskadel, Chief Constable Donavan Allard, and Constable Hulbar Onfre.

“All stern men and resolute. We know not their involvement in the troubles of Briarsgate. Magistrate Grover Ruskadel has been with us for several years. It's rumoured he was an Inquisitor and a Witchhunter in Hookhill, for the Church of Heironeus, and was forced to leave there due to some sort of politics. Chief Constable Donavan Allard is a hero from the Goblin years, a dangerous, fell-handed warrior. Briarsgate owes him much. Constable Hulbar Onfre has only been in Briarsgate for a few months." -Felicity and Killian Gade
The Moneychanger and Jeweler (7) has his name painted on the sign over the door: "F. A. Praetorius, proprietor.” The small stone building is currently shut tight by doors and shutters of heavy wood, reinforced with iron bands.

If he can't get out the south door, he'll guard the group's retreat from the barn or guard the east door. Basically, be muscle for whatever the rest of the group does.

Sounds like a plan. Ingrid has two lvl 2 spells left, good for two Hold Person spells (1-3 targets each), might help us make our escape.

Bo also has 2 first level spells to use up. 2 well placed cornfield entangle spells might help to make a daring escape.

Thanks everyone. Once Pelias replies, I'll write my next post. :)

Mouser, please Save vs. Wisdom on 4d6 to calm your horse enough to try to lead him.
If you plan to lead him through the well-nigh wall of fire at the southern door (see map), please roll vs. 5d6 instead.
Thanks.

I guess no one likes Telkis' idea of bursting through the Eastern door... :) :? It seemed safest and most direct. But if we all are going out the Northern door, Telkis will go that way, too, sticking with the others.
