Thanks!

Can you roll for Bo's recuperation for right now, please?

My wife keeps giving me dirty looks when I pick up this tablet so I guess I don't have time for new macros till Sunday. :D

Hi,
Fulci said he could post today, so I'll plan to move it forward tomorrow. Last call for more IC arguing. ;)

Hoom, please roll for healing as per this request in my last post:
Inferno wrote: Everyone gains their daily healing. Please see the new House Rule for healing, and post your die roll.
Thanks.
Bo and Ingrid needn't roll for Healing. They both have a 10 Con.
AleBelly, you accidentally double-rolled for Pelias' healing. This one posted first: Pelias 2nd HP from rest 1-yes 2-no [1d2] = 1 ...So we'll use it.

A 6, a 7 and an 8!
Nice! I wish my PC clerics rolled that well for CLW.
OGRE MAGE wrote:Bo spends some time digging in the earth to collect some large, fresh worms for Sephus and his new friends. He prepares the necessary spell and then feeds the murder some fresh meat, hoping that the offering solidifies the crows friendship with the druid.

The idea he will tell Sephus is for the crows to fly back to town ahead of the slower moving party. The birds will then fly around town quite normally, looking for any groups of people gathered together or anything else that seems out of the ordinary. The murder will then regroup on their way back to meet the party, dictating anything they saw to Sephus so he can translate it to Bo before we reach the outskirts of town.
Ok. Is this the plan?
  • Bo casts Speak With Animals now and tells the crows what to do.
The crows fly to Briarsgate to look for any groups gathered, or anything out of the ordinary.
The party sets out to Briarsgate, with Telkis' pocketful of mice.
The crows intercept you before you reach town, at a predetermined point.
Bo casts Speak with Animals again so the crows can give their report.
    The party enters Briarsgate.
If this is the plan, then:
  • How long do you give the crows to observe the village?
What time does the party wish to meet the crows? (It's 1pm now, and you are 3 miles east of Briarsgate)
Where, outside of town, do you wish to meet the crows (N, S, E, W of town? How far from town? On the Hookhill Road? Elsewhere? Etc.)
From which direction do you plan to enter Briarsgate?
Thanks.

To the Party:

It's already past noon. Maybe it would be best for us to wait and let the crows observe the town for the day and give their report just before dusk. Then enter the town under the cover of darkness. Those with stealth could scout ahead of the party as we all move in.

Waiting till almost dark is fine by me. The crows can set out right away and take the time to case the place for a while.

I think we should come back into town circling in from the north. Then we could make our way into the trees of the grove, hopefully unseen.

Bo will also tell Sephus to seek out this hermit to see if he is willing to talk to the crow a bit, if he indeed does have magic powers that is.

The murder can then meet back up with us right after dark, just past the outskirts of town to the north.

Just some fun reading:
http://www.atlasobscura.com/articles/th ... in-gardens
While some gardeners might now throw in a gnome statue among their flowers and shrubberies, back in the 18th century wealthy estate owners were hiring real people to dress as druids, grow their hair long, and not wash for years. These hired hermits would lodge in shacks, caves, and other hermitages constructed in a rustic manner in rambling gardens. It was a practice mostly found in England, although it made it up to Scotland and over to Ireland as well.

That's crazy. And I thought garden gnomes were silly.

Everyone, from now on, all rolls where PC knowledge of success is not guaranteed (hide in shadows, search for secret doors, search for traps, etc.) will be handled secretly by me. Thanks, Zhym.

Fyi, it's night.
I include a rough sense of time at the top of each major DM post. I say 'rough' because minutes didn't exist in medieval times. Sundials and water clocks could track the hour but not much more (and the length of an hour changed wildly between winter and summer because these proto-clocks assumed 12 "hours" of daylight in every day.)
