Dead and Forgotten (deceased pc's)

#1 Post by Inferno »

Here is where the character sheets of dead PCs will be stacked like cordwood. Don’t worry. No rush. I’m as patient as an open grave. ;)

Background and Details
Physical Description
A natural beauty, Avril is more diminutive than many of her kind, standing barely over five-feet in height, and not topping 100-pounds unless fully clothed. She has long, sliver-blonde hair, reaching her hips in length, which she parts in the middle, and maintains two tightly wound braids on either side of her slender face. As a youth, she was embarrassed of her elven heritage and would make a conscious effort to hide her pointed ears beneath her hair, but now displays them with pride. The rest of her attractive face is graced with thin lips, icy blue eyes, and a somewhat pointy chin.

She almost exclusively wears blues, favoring azure, the color of Corellon, her deity, but will occasionally mix other earthy tones into her wardrobe. Her clothing choices are always on the loose, lightweight side; which, when coupled with her leather armor, allow her the mobility she desires. She carries a large pack containing a variety of miscellaneous items with her, which she is prepared to drop at a moments notice if she needs to unburden the extra weight. She wears a necklace made of prayer beads, with a silver cross holy symbol, which she keeps secured beneath her leather armor and does not allow to dangle freely.

In conflict, her charm and her wits are her greatest assets, but she is also quite competent with her prized possession -- a long sword, gifted to her by her elven father. This particular sword has a narrow chappe, or cross guard, a grip made of soft, tightly wrapped leather, and a rounded pommel bearing the elven symbol for peace. The blade itself is perfectly balanced, extremely sharp, and enhanced to the first order of magical power. Avril takes extra care in tending to this blade, frequently rubbing it with oils and maintaining it with one of her handful of whetstones. While she treasures her long sword, she never fails to neglect her short bow or dagger; the two other weapons she frequently carries.

Avril harvests are particularly strong dislike for drow and orcs.

Personality
Avril is extremely compassionate and kind at heart, and always looking for opportunities to assist those less fortunate. She is a crusader against evil, and a firm believer that rules are required in order to maintain social order, even if some may be considered unjust. In social situations, she can be extremely charming, and definitely prefers to rely on her charms and guile instead of her appearance, but tends to be more observant and introverted in these situations. She is quick to formulate judgements -- of people or situations -- and has absolute faith in these initial instincts. She is passionate when defending her beliefs or her faith, often to the point of being stubborn. She is extremely loyal, and once her respect or trust is earned, it takes a truly heinous act to lose it.

Backstory
Avril was born of an elven father and a human mother. The three lived in peace for a time, where her mother spun colorful cloth for the local elf merchants, and her father taught her to use a blade; and also attempted to teach her languages, which went well, and arcane magic, which did not. Instead, Avril discovered on her own that she had a natural inclination for magic of a divine nature.

Sadly, the peaceful existence her family enjoyed did not last. When she was still nine years old, her home village was raided by an army of drow, and her mother was killed by the invaders. Her father managed to successfully flee with her, and he took her to a neighboring treetop town, where he felt confident his half-elven daughter would be welcomed. She was.

On the morning of her 10th birthday, she woke to a letter from her father, along with the long sword and scabbard she treasures. In the letter, her father explained that, after losing his wife, he couldn't stand the possibility of outliving his own daughter, whom did not have absolute elven blood coursing through her veins, and wouldn't share his life expectancy. Instead, he left her in the care of a family of half-elves, where she spent the rest of her childhood learning of the regions and fine-tuning her natural, divine talents.

At the age of 18, Avril decided to take up adventuring and bid farewell to her foster parents. She has spent the last 34 years honing her talents on minor challenges, and only recently feels the confidence to seek out situations more worthy of her talents.

She has never seen her father again.
