Re: Chp. 4: The Gods Will
The adventurers, feeling better some from the healings of Azoth and Calto, suspect the bodies may come alive. They move warily with weapons out to the eastern door. The corpses, if that they are, remain inanimate.
Siavel the Provoker summons forth his unseen servant Panguine and orders it to retrieve the wand upon the chest of the female. The wand floats in the air grasped by the invisible Panguine. Not surprisingly, the woman and man leap up from their divans.
The male speaks words no one but Tabai perhaps understands, for it is the old tongue of the land. Some words he is not sure, but thinks it something like: "You have broken/interupted/eaten our long/full/ glorious sleep/repast; for this you must pay/repent."
The man and woman look angry, and are in fighting stances, but do not attack. As if waiting for response.

Siavel urges his porter on so he can take a closer look at the wand.
Can any of you understand his words? They seem to be trying to communicate.

Calto the druid:
The druid deftly emulates the "lowly" crawfish and scuttles back to the nearest wall. He brandishes his shield and scimitar, waiting for the inevitable onslaught.

Olmec Assault - Round One
The ancient Olmecs leap forward to attack in dramatic spins, flips and hand attacks. Their style reminds the adventurers of battle monks in their own homeland. The male chops and thrusts into Siavel with two-fisted fury. The elven wizard deflects and rolls with the punches, avoiding the full impact of the blows that strike shoulder and chest (4 HP.)
The female skips into the air and does a round-house kick at Kitchi's face, but the ranger pulls back and ducks.
The other adventurers watch the battle unfold.

Re: Chp. 4: The Gods Will
Siavel covets the thing even more now that it is being protected so. He mentally commands his porter to return the wand to the death divan.
Make for the doorway as I try to hold them off!
I have a hunch that these creatures will be bound to their death room here and maybe they won't follow us outside of it! MOVE!!!
The elf goes into a defensive stance, hoping to allow the others an escape from the room. He will also rush out the door once the others have exited.

Tabai does not defend unless he himself is attacked he moves away from the others that wish to rob the dead then act the victim once the dead rise to attack them. Heading to the exits.

Calto the druid:
Calto heeds the elven mage's advice and heads toward the exit. He retreats just on the other side of the threshold in case his skills are needed.

Azoth Al-Aziz, occultic priest:
The sinister cultist squints at the adversaries that Siavel has awoken, looking for the telltale signs of undeath. Grog?
For once, Azoth is happy to heed the elf's advice. He opens the door he is adjacent to, preparing the path for flight.

Re: Chp. 4: The Gods Will
Azoth the cleric, who has seen many undead in his career, does not see or smell any tell-tale signs the man and woman are undead. The infravision of Calto and Siavel show the characteristic emanation of the heat of the living.
The adventurers retreat through the east door as Siavel defends the way. He is hit again in the chest with a fist that feels rock-hard (10 hp) before he too escapes.
The elven sorcerer's suspicions prove true as the ancient Olmecs do not follow. The hallway goes east and after 15' turns south.

Tabai just shakes his head at the stupidity of it all.
