That is sad news. I've never read her book either, probably should remedy that. She was doing good work, and using the Trek platform in a way I admire. One of the funny things about every generation of Star Trek that's always fascinated me is how pervasive and influential the bit parts become. The support actors, who may have only been in a couple of episodes, are every bit as essential to the longevity of Star Trek as the main cast.

The Shatner Project sounds more embarrassing than I can probably handle, but now there's no avoiding it, it must be seen.

I just realized the drawback of being an XO. :D
Only does Captain Kirk bring the whole leadership team down to the planet! ;)

This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

That is a good point. Do you want all the players involved in the landing party (TOS) or do you have something for those who stay on the ship (TNG)?

Either option is fine with me, honestly. Leaving a PC or two to take charge would simply enable encounters to occur between the split parties, so no one will be left without something to do. On the other hand, the ship operates on a three-watch rotation, so if all of the PCs go down as a single party then it's assumed their bridge roles are being temporarily replaced by the relief staff, and everything's fine.

RRedmond,
It's classic Star Trek. We should all go down to the planet, and bring plenty of red shirts! :)

Bringing an Andoran is like bringing a Vulcan. They're good in a fight.
Plus, we may need an engineering expert if we find the missing starship, or if the radiation source is a machine.

Grognard's ensigns can run the ship while we're gone.

Join the (landing) party!

#48 Post by ybn1197 »

LCDR Dale Collins - Pilot
CAPT Dillon Wyse - Commanding
Dr. Ned Ryerson - Medical
Commander Nadix Ar Eth - Scientific
Cmdr Endilov - Engineering
Security Officer (x2)

Because this is an unknown territory with no signs of hostility at this point, only Palm Phasers will be used.

Commander Nadix Ar Eth, Science Officer:

"Aye captain," the Edosian said approvingly. The three armed alien simultaneously checked and stowed his tricorder and palm phaser.

Velcroing on his palm phaser and gathering up the equipment he feels necessary for the trip, CDR Endilev joins the party at the shuttle bay. Nodding at the Captain as he sees him. He feels a blue flush rising to his face his body involuntarily readying for action; he balls his fists only once, and releases. Maybe not the most warlike of Andorians, but the blood of the warrior still courses through his veins.

Dr. Ned "Needles" Ryerson:

As well as a communicator and hand phaser, Dr. Ryerson brings along a medical tricorder and medical kit.

LCDR Dale Collins; Helmsman

Dale attaches the phaser to his belt and then travels to the shuttle bay with the rest of the party. He moves to the familiar Pilot's chair and sits down and goes about powering up the vessel and checking its readouts to ensure every thing is good-to-go....

That's awesome!

By the way, I've been at a conference, so we'll have to wait until Sunday for the plunge to Coxa II.
