That's true. The only episodes I can recall where an ensign actively disobeyed Kirk were either because the ensign was suffering from delusions of grandeur, or had actually become a super human.

Starfleet must have a pretty intimidating protocol for reprimands, or very good psychology training at the academy, or both.

I finally read Red Shirts, long on my to-do list but only turned to after this game started.

It was a funny parody-turned-serious look at the expandables.

A quizzical look passes over Dillon's face. "My intent is not to trick you. Were we come from, we are men." Pointing at the new arrival he adds "And she is a woman."
This is a perfectly understated Kirk line.

I have no idea why, but when I wrote that the only thing I could hear in my head was "That which you called 'Eed plebnista'..." I had to go home and watch that episode (Omega Glory) again. lol

Hi,
I’m going to be traveling for work for 3 days. I may not have time or connectivity to post. I'll be back Friday.

Please NPC my character if you need to keep things moving.

I'll be away through Sunday at least, and then I'll post in-game after that.

Time for another word from our sponsors, plus a titillating interview with the stars of NBC's upcoming hit TV show "Star Trek," which promises to be out of this world (Friday nights at 8:30).

If I'm holding things up, please NPC my character.

The peaceful Edosian will only resort to combat if ordered, or if the landing party is in danger. If that happens, he'll try to humanely stun these aliens as quickly as possible to protect the female of the species and the mysterious object she carries.

Thanks!

Thanks for the wait, everyone, I've posted in the away team.

I apologize if any of you have less to do at the moment. While the slow-posting rate is best for most of our schedules, it does mean that it's taking a long time to get to a point in the adventure where everyone has something of equal importance to do. We'll get there, though!

I was at the bookstore yesterday and saw the Autobiography of James T. Kirk. Anybody read this yet?

I did like the Foreward by Dr. Leonard H. McCoy, M.D., which begins, 'First let me just say, I'm a doctor not a writer.'

If Ensign Abbott survives; can we say his first name is Kirk?

'Ensign Abbot keeps a wary eye about, alternately looking at the landscape for hidden dangers and the curves of the alien woman. When they enter the village he gives his most debonair smile to alien ladies.'

Sheer AWESOME. Nicely done amigo! :)

Kirk J. (James) Abbott

I haven't read The Autobiography of James T. Kirk, but it sounds like one to add to my list.

Sorry about the quiet this last week. I've had some unexpected hiccups in renewing my visa thanks to the recent policy changes here, but everything's cooling down now. I'll have an update by tomorrow.

On a side note, anyone here play Artemis? I bought the full bridge license about 3 weeks ago but haven't had time to try it out much yet. A friend of mine's trying to get me in on that and Star Trek Online.
