That seems perfectly logical to me. Just try not to go through any doors first, if you want to live long and prosper.

Looks great, Kinkajou.

I see that I've never changed the typo in the skill section. It's one roll for every 3 points of MN, not for every +3 modifier! So both ensigns should get 3 rolls on the skills table, to see what completely random skills they happened to be taught at the Academy and in previous assignments. If you get the same skill again, it goes up a rank (e.g., Chemistry 1 becomes Chemistry 2).

Then it's time to select your chosen skills (the 1d6 rolled twice):
Ensign #1 has 1pt and 2pts, but you need at least 4pts to improve a random skill or 6pts to improve a selected skill, so we'll just ignore it. Once he gets his 3 random skills, he's done.

Ensign #2 has 6pts and 1pt. The 1pt can be ignored, but the 6 lets you take any skill you like (or improve an existing skill, making it Rank 2).

Excellent! Thanks for the pointers. I did wonder about the +3 but dutifully followed the orders as written, Captain! :)

I've rolled the redshirts' random skills (with weirdly similar/overlapping results - these guys obviously took most of the same classes in the academy) and put my one choice for Ensign #2 into Electronics. There didn't really seem to be any skills that particularly struck me as Security-relevant but I thought Electronics would do for hacking security systems and electronic doors and stuff - though probably only as a backup to the Engineer Officer ;) Hopefully that's reasonable.

To keep everything in one place, I've edited the skills into the post above.

I'm still working on names and descriptions (I've had to work late for the last couple of days) but I should be able to get that done over the weekend. Do you have a start/re-start date in mind? I'll make sure I get it done by then.

These look great. It looks like these ensigns are dreaming big about reassignments to Engineering or Command someday!

ETA will be this upcoming week, I think.

I think maybe Ensign Li is a career lifer with dreams of promotion and perhaps a command position one day. Ensign Chowdhury is just looking to do a good job on this rotation before returning to his young family back on earth ;)

Sounds good to me. Whenever you are ready :)
