Ghostbusters RPG [Waitlist]

#1 Post by Bluehorse »

I always said this franchise would make an awesome RPG. I just stumbled across this and cannot believe it. I'm not saying i could run this right now, since I have yet to read through it, but assuming it looks good, would anyone be interested in playing a quirky game like this?

I ain't 'fraid of no ghost!
Sometimes this summer I will most likely be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.

Okay... I read over everything in brief... and... I might regret this... but who would be interested in this should I agree (more likely now) to put together a slightly homebrew version of this? I am thinking to update it from 1996 to modern times and make some player-friendly tweaks. A little-known fact, I have been active int he GB community for years. Look up Old Fort Ghostbusters on FB and you will see some of what I am talking about.

Yeah, I am almost at my limit as well, but I plan to keep anything I run fairly slow pace and flexible, so no worries there. I am only considering it because a few other games I was very active in have pretty much ground to a halt and seem to have gone to the wayside, so I have some more time now. Mixed feelings for sure, but one door closes and another one opens.

Hi. I was redirected here from the Ghostbusters RPG subreddit, I would definitely be interested if you are starting up a game.

Welcome Taaz! We have a two post moderation policy.
After your second approved post you’re all set.

This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

Thanks, I am excited to see about this, it's my favorite system. Is there anything I can do to help/assist let me know. I have played a few PbP games before but I would consider them the least used way of playing(even behind irc)

Hi Tazz! Always happy to meet a fellow ghosthead. Once you post a second time, feel free to hit me up. I am working on getting this up and going now. Will likely be about a week before i have it rolling. Until then, everyone can start thinking up characters concepts. Remember, we will be operating in 2018, not 1986, so i will be making some homebrew changes.

You know, this intrigues me. It's a completely unfamiliar system, and I'd have some studying to do, but I think I'd like to be added here, Blue.
