Do you have any examples of PbP games you've been in? I know the other three guys in this thread but I'm unfamiliar with you.

And I want people who are excited about the game. I just want to make sure we're on the same page with the whole concept of "privateer vs evil pirates". You guys aren't space paladins or the like but we're not selling anyone into slavery here, if you know what I mean.
I think Firefly is always a good example to use for the style of game I'm interested in playing in.

If you don't mind newbies I would be interested. I only have the free version of the rules but it looks straight forward enough. I could run anything, whatever is needed. I used to like playing traveller.

I've never played, but I'm always interested in new things. Are there alien races?

Here's the list from my rpg.net sig, newly updated.

PhP List:
Alive:

Passed: The Devil’s Mirror: IC/OCC Interest

Dead: Broken Toys - Legacy 2nd Edition - | Recruitment | Out-of-Character | In-Character | Wiki
Cairn: Recruitment OOC IC

Also, thanks for the example, Firefly works for me. So we aren't saints, but still leave places better than we found them. (Except for Carlin, that bar will never be the same. ;))

Hey everyone, not to be all mysterious but a situation has popped up that, while not bad, has the potential to negatively affect my ability to run this game.

I should know more by the end of the month. Once I have something concrete to share, I'll post here and we'll see if anyone's still interested. So subscribe to this page and I'll be in touch in a couple weeks.

The good news is that I got a new job. The bad news is that I don't know how busy I'm going to be with the new job so I'm reticent to start this game up until I figure it out.

Can't see myself starting this one until mid-March at the earliest. We'll see how it goes.

Thanks, guys, much appreciated.

I have a question for you all. How do you feel about a game that's a bit more slow-moving (maybe only three or four GM posts a week) but more chunks of game time pass between posts?

This would require me to make assumptions about your PCs' actions, or else you'd have to detail "if-then" actions to give me more info on your intentions.

Rather than rolling out combat situations one round at a time, I'd take your overall strategy and tactics and give you a result.

Would that be of interest?

I like the idea of having "standing orders" and if/then scenarios for my character, and slower pace sounds fine. I'd be interested.

Hmmm. I'd potentially be down for this, dependent upon mechanism. I played in an SWN game over on rpg.net where the Referee posted in broad strokes, and I wasn't a huge fan of it, but it could have just been the Referee.
