Assuming I get the dice rolls, I am tempted by the thought of a Warlock death soldier, perhaps Ixian.
Sounds good to me. I wonder what the others are thinking of playing?

I'm intrigued as to the others characters as well!!

If I don't the rolls for a death soldier, I'd go for a warlock with magician spells. I had a few ideas for character background either way.

I'm thinking about playing either a Viking Berserker or Esquimaux Shaman (Cleric/ Necromancer).
Sometimes this summer I will most likely be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.

cool, either of those sound fun.

you can see what I've got so far, any thoughts or suggestions welcome. I'm happy to make any tweaks needed to fit with the the group/campaign.

it still needs a few things doing:

3 players have been added to the forum and I am always looking for players interested in a sword & sorcery game.

Are you still looking for players?

I would definitely be interested in an AS&SH 2e PbP game. Although I've never done PbP before, I am intrigued by the possibilities and I enjoy "writing" in whatever forum, so this seems right up my alley and a great opportunity to learn.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Welcome Lenslo!
--Ron--
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

I guess I'm not approved to respond to PMs yet. I know that I'm on moderation right now as a newbie anyway, so I'll respond here and will hopefully get that number of posts reached. .

Yes, I have both the 1E and 2E books. I love the quality of the 2E publication although I do miss the spiral bound ease of 1E. I see the previous posts about character generation. I can put together a character tomorrow on over the weekend. What all do you need from me to get started?

Thanks in advance!

Lenslo (aka Dave IRL).

Anyone else generate the characters yet? Is there any area of need in the party? I've seen mention of the traditional Cleric and Warrior roles, but haven't seen any mention of rogue types nor much about magic users. I'm willing to play just about any character, so I might as well fill a niche in the group as a whole.

Looking forward to seeing what everyone else is doing.

Great. I'll see what everyone else is running before I roll up a character. One of the things I love about the design of AS&SH is the flexibility in the character types: even two rogues or two warrior types can be completely dissimilar because of the uniqueness of each of the sub-classes.

I'm in the very southern end of Anne Arundel county, practically in Calvert County, .

Oh. Down past Annapolis? I was asking because we have a table-top 5E group and we're looking for another player but that is quite a ride for you.

Yes, that would be quite the drive, although I'd consider it if I didn't work shift work, meaning I can usually only play once every 2-3 weeks, depending upon the schedule. That's not a fair commitment to a regular group. I run a 5E game online using Roll20 for a group of life-long friends all across the country because of that very reason: it is easy to schedule when we need to. That is also a reason why I'm interested in this PbP game: another avenue to play where I can do so during my free time every day.
