Gathering interest - Lords of Darkness (AD&D 2nd ed)

I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.

I am newcomer to the forum but started in the 'Shiny Island' campaign. I note you don't have many characters posted yet. What classes do you need, obviously undead themed games means you'll need clerics. What if I played a paladin type or some savage barbarian? How many xp start off with and what is the campaign ID number to link a character too.

Do you want us to roll the Unseen Servant traditional generating way, 4d6 losing the lowest dice?

I have a Cleric made but am having issues getting registered in the roller so once that is fixed I will post the character.

Yes, please begin character creation. Send me a PM to review.

OK, I have an account in the roller so I will work on getting a sheet filled in. I will hold off on posting it until it is approved.

Hey Brian,
SilverBen wrote:... and have not explored the dice roller yet...
The die roller is a neat way to track and remember die rolls. Also players attach their electronic character records to your campaign (every time they update their record there, it updates wherever their character is linked on the forum) and can set up macros to make rolling (without actual dice) easy.

If that's the way you want to go, check out ToniXX's how-to here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=694

Be well,

This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.

Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

I took the first roll from the die roller and started with the following. What I need to know is the starting xp or do we start at first level? How much gp to equip my character or go by the book and buy stuff straight from the lists.

Also as a magic user, do we get read magic and detect magic as 'free spells' .

Both need not be more than a short paragraph giving your character some discernible physical description, a plausible history, and some hint at goals that align with the overall plot line.

Nevertheless, thanks for taking the time to complete this.

I have completed my character Stig!! and you can view him for approval or tweaking by looking at the sheet above. I was not sure how you wanted to do things so I made him with the following notes:

I took the halfway point between levels 1 and 2 of both classes and divided it to produce and equal amount of xp for both classes. He is a 1st level fighter / 1st level mage.

Do you hold to the tradition of max HP at 1st level? I gave him max hp for both classes and divided by 2, he has no constitution bonus. 10 +4 / 2 = 7hp

For his spells I simply gave him Read Magic and Detect Magic as 'freebies' and then chose six random spells for his spell book, which is the minimum number of known spells from his intelligence score.

I rolled his gold piece starting allowance and bought his stuff at list price in the players guide, baring boots and clothes.

When I check the DM guide I will update his Saving Throws and his weapons Thaco.

Hope that is fine.
