Looking for a Dungeon Crawl Classics game.

I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.

Looking for a Dungeon Crawl Classics game.

#1 Post by abwinningh42 »

Hey, guys. Looking for someone who is willing/wanting to run a DCC game. I've Judged DCC several times myself, but I hadn't had the chance to play. No one in my area is running it at the moment, and no one in my normal Skype group is willing to run one.

I'd prefer to start with a 0-level funnel, but it's not necessarily required.

Thanks for taking a look.

Welcome!
DCC is certainly welcome here. I hope you find a game soon!

This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

Thanks, Ron!

I actually posted about this awhile back on the Playground and someone pointed me here. It just took me a bit to actually get around to posting.

Would love to play in a game. I have the 4th printing from the Kickstarter but I have never played.

I'd be interested in DCC. I have the 3rd printing with the 'warrior & door' cover.

I've only run a funnel once and we basically made most of it up. Otherwise, I've used it only as a spell sourcebook for B/X (one of the PCs has gained the ability to cast randomly determined patron spells out of the DCC book, using the usual DCC spell rules). I'd really like to sit down and learn the thing for real though. Unfortunately, I'm already hoping to get a quick T&T game going, so I wouldn't be able to run DCC until that's over.

If anyone else wants to take a crack at running a funnel, though, I'd be happy to play.

I'm very interested in a playing in a DCC game, if my total lack of experience with the system doesn't deter anyone.

I'd be interested, too.

Plenty of players. Anyone up for running the game?

I would also be interested in a DCC game. I have heard good things about Sailors on the Starless Sea; it's a 0-level funnel. I have heard good things about Frozen in Time too. It's a level 1 adventure, but I believe it has instructions on running it as a funnel.

The Temple of Chaos

For the past several months, your village has experienced terrifying sights and sounds. Animal corpses have been found in the woods with their skins removed. Distant, nocturnal screams have awoken most of you over the past several weeks. Some of your friends and family have disappeared. There are whispers of a stranger being sighted handing out "wisdom berries" to villagers. Rumors are rampant.

Determined to find the source of this terrorizing pestilence, one group has traced the activity to an ancient, underground temple of a chaos god. The brush-covered stone door has been cleared, indicating the sanctum is once again in use.

Those of you who have mustered the courage (some more than others) to investigate have gathered near the entrance to the temple, just as dawn breaks …

---

This is a 0-level adventure using the core DCC rules. The characters are common villagers investigating this mystery. Abilities are rolled 3d6 in order. Occupation (including race) and equipment are determined randomly.

I’m looking for 4-6 players. Each player will have 2-3 characters, because many of them will die. No one has spell-casting or thief abilities. Those who survive will advance to 1st level, choose a class and be available for the next adventure.

Experience with DCC in not necessary, only access to the die roller. The DCC Quick Start will be made available in the game forum.

I'm open to the posting rate, but would prefer once per day.

---

Who’s up for running the gauntlet?

Of course I'm interested, since I started the thread, ahah. How would you like us to generate characters? Would you like to send us pdf's from Purple Sorcerer's 0-level party gen? Or would you like us to roll them up here? Or something else entirely?

I wasn't on the original list, but just let me know if you need another player!

I have always been interested in DCC and would love to give this one a try.

Thanks!

0-level character generator

This is great, thanks for the referral! I think we can use this, so long as people can post/link the image (or file) of the results to the game forum.

Let's see how many commit. :)

I'd like to cap the characters at 14. Depending on the interest, we might have to drop to two characters per player.
