B/X Dungeon Crawl ~OPEN~

I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.

B/X Dungeon Crawl ~OPEN~

#1 Post by Griffith »

Image

I am in the planning stage of a B/X dungeon crawl. I am looking for 4 or 5 players. Dwarf characters may have an advantage.

I will accept characters from The Complete B/X Adventurer. No centaurs!

I have DMed play-by-post before, but this will be my first time at Unseen Servant.

There will be a simple storyline to get victims characters into the dungeon right away :)

Interested! I haven't had a chance to use my copy of the Complete B/X Adventurer, yet!

Yes, I like the selection of characters available in the Complete B/X Adventurer. Hopefully the game will come together so we'll get a chance to use it.

I'm trying to decide between playing a beastmaster and a duelist. Decisions, decisions!

If any fence-sitters are curious about the classes made available in the B/X Adventurer, the are:
- Acrobat..........14
- Archer..........15
- Barbarian..........16
- Bard..........17
- Beastmaster..........18
- Bounty Hunter..........20
- Centaur..........21
- Duelist..........22
- Gnome..........23
- Ogre-Kin..........24
- Mountebank..........24
- Mystic..........26
- Scout..........27
- Summoner..........28
- Tattoo Mage..........29
- Witch..........30
- Witch-Hunter..........32
If you wanted to play one of these options, I could send you the relevant info.

There is also an absolutely vital table for determining what sort of hat your character is wearing.

I'm interested if you are still looking for victims.

Pulpatoon: Beastmaster looks fantastic! That role tempts me too though I'm looking in other areas more.

Right now I'm mainly torn between gnome and ogre-kin. I always enjoy playing dwarves as well so that is an option. If one of these would be a better complement for party makeup then please let me know as I can choose based on that. Hell, we could throw a few retainers into the mix and get by with fewer PCs, even just the three volunteers so far, no?

I don't see a problem with that at all. Griffith and I were in a game with one other player plus the GM and there didn't seem to be any issues.

Personally, I love it as it streamlines play and decision-making as well as feeling more intimate which helps immensely with immersion. That's just my take on it and I don't mean to railroad us down this path. I'm interested in hearing from the DM and Pulpatoon. And I'm old school with the RPG democracy so each player gets one vote and the DM gets 16 votes. :D

The DM's preferences really are paramount, here, of course, but if you're asking me, I think three players is just fine. Especially when they're gold-plated, diamond-studded, Michelin-starred, deluxe-quality players such as our humble selves.

You can choose a class from the Complete B/X Adventurer and from the core B/X classes, so your choices are:

Fighter
Magic User
Acrobat
Archer
Barbarian
Bard
Beastmaster
Bounty Hunter
Duelist
Gnome
Oger-Kin
Mountebank

Scout
Summoner
Tattoo Mage
Witch
Witch Hunter

(No centaurs)

Gotcha. I usually don't pick a class until I get my rolls, so will wait to determine what I want to do.

-are still interested.

I am working on getting stuff together. The game should be ready tonight or tomorrow night.
It will be titled A Company of Corpses, a B/X misadventure in the Mines of Khunmar

Plus I am reading on how to set things up here at Unseen Servant.

Great! *thumbs up*

Also a note on my posting habits. I will be available on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays. And I will try to post as needed on those days. I work long hours Wednesday thru Saturday and will be less likely to post on those days.

Actually, only ToniXX can set up new forums for the nonce.
Dragon foot. Bamboo pole. Little mouse. Tiny boy.
