Wow, my character is more intelligent than someone! lol.Pulpatoon wrote:I ended up going with Cleric for the second character, Brother Dumphey:

As well as being a clumsy idiot, this guy is a one-hit-point wonder, so I won't plan on getting too attached.

Our party is going to spend the whole campaign pushing at the dungeon gates when they are clearly marked "PULL."ybn1197 wrote:Wow, my character is more intelligent than someone! lol.

A quick question regarding the sidekick: do they gain experience as a PC or as henchmen?

Re: B/X Dungeon Crawl ~interest check~
Not sure if you wanted us to post characters here but my two are pretty much done. Oh, I have plenty of gold left over so if anyone is in need of some for equipment let me know.
A few questions:
One of the ogre-kin's weapons is a 10' pole used as a long club. Would damage stay at 1d6 or moved up to 1d8? Other?
Bows are still just 1 attack/round, right? (I think I may be confused with AD&D 1e which is 2/rd)
Is it possible to get caltrops (one bag) and ballbearings or marbles (one bag)? If so, would area coverage be 10' x 10'?

Coil23,
Easy enough to link our character's backgrounds! Did Tun and Coat of Nine-Hides live in the same forest? Did they socialize, or avoid each other?
I'll say that Nine-Hides is motivated by the same forest-rampage as Boo.
Brother Dumphey and the Order of Quases were on the edge of this same forest.

I like it. How I envision Tun I'd say he has caught glimpses of her now and then but always avoided approach (and skedaddled if approached) out of bashfulness and the habits of safety. But he still saw her as an obvious friend of the forest and its denizens so he never thought of her as an enemy.
Re: B/X Dungeon Crawl ~interest check~
10' pole will deliver 1d8 in confined dungeon areas. In wide open spaces, where he can really let it swing, it will deliver 1d10.coil23 wrote:A few questions:

Bows, 1 attack per round.
Bags of marbles are available at a cost of 1 gp per bag. They will cover a 10' x 10' area.

Everybody, go ahead and give your 1st level "sidekicks" maximum hit points. We want them to have some sort of chance for survival
Re: B/X Dungeon Crawl ~interest check~
The slow part of me finally clicked that Pulpatoon's sidekick is actually more stupid than my ogre-kin. And the petty, dramatic part of me is jealous because I wanted my big oaf to be the stupidest one. Hmmm...how to fit this into character...

Upon review of the character's stats, Griffith is hastily scratching out the "debate the Philosopher-Lich" portion of this adventure.coil23 wrote:The slow part of me finally clicked that Pulpatoon's sidekick is actually more stupid than my ogre-kin. And big thanks on the HP bump! Brother Dumphey is especially appreciative!

Re: B/X Dungeon Crawl ~interest check~
I'm going to have to bow out due to a lack of free time. Good luck!
Re: B/X Dungeon Crawl ~interest check~
I'm sorry you won't have time, thirdkingdom.
So now it looks like the lineup is:
front line: beastmaster, cleric, ogre-kin
sidekicks: cleric, MU, gnome
Does this spread seem acceptable to folks?

Re: B/X Dungeon Crawl ~interest check~
I just had this image of both clerics consistently bickering and vying for leader of the party and lead proselytizer while the rest of the group quietly ignores them.

Here's what I have so far:
Re: B/X Dungeon Crawl ~interest check~
Given that the two clerics have Intelligences of 5 and 6, that will be one hilarious religious debate.coil23 wrote:I just had this image of both clerics consistently bickering and vying for leader of the party and lead proselytizer while the rest of the group quietly ignores them.
Re: B/X Dungeon Crawl ~OPEN~
This game is still open. There still is time to add 2 or 3 players.
