BECMI/RC Sandbox game?
Just throwing out a quick post to see if anyone would want to play in a BECMI/RC Sandbox game?

Re: BECMI/RC Sandbox game?
Might I offer a suggestion? (This would be a suggestion for any DM gauging interest in or wanting to start a PbP game...)
In addition to posting something under Looking For Players Or Games, I suggest this:
1. In the upper right-hand corner of the screen, click on Members.
2. In the Usernames table, click on the Joined column heading once; this will sort the column by newest member first. There is your list of perspective gamers.
3. Send a PM out to either the 10 most recent members of The Unseen Servant OR send a PM out to the 10 most recent members of The Unseen Servant who have five or fewer posts to their name (possibly even just those with no posts to their name!).
With this second method, I see 10 users who signed up since April 10th (just 2 months or less) with 5 or fewer posts who might be very interested in joining a PbP game.
Again, it shouldn't replace a post here on this thread, which is useful for garnering the attention of the regular users of the forum, but it might provide some interesting (and additional) results. Maybe someone signed up for the forum, didn't find any games to join, and just doesn't check frequently enough to catch new game postings in time.
The nice thing about this forum vs. Dragonsfoot, ODD74 (Original D&D Discussion Forum), or any other D&D Forum, is that this forum is dedicated to Play-By-Post gaming. So we can safely say that anyone signing up for a User ID is probably interested in joining a game at some point, right? We should take advantage of the information we have (people who voluntarily sign up for a PbP forum) and draw some new players back to the forums who have already expressed an interest!
Just a thought, anyway.

I will be Posting this at Dragon Foot to see if we can get some more players, but the response looks positive.

Hey DH;
I have a BECMI character that I only got to play a couple of times from a short-lived RL game a few years back; I posted her stats into the Unseen Forum Character Profiles and have included below. She's a level 1 Magic User from an African-esque group of islands whose culture is very much like that of a Middle Ages Italian City State (i.e. very mercantile and sailing-heavy). The DM gave us 2 randomly rolled Spells in addition to 'Read Magic'; so she has 3 spells in her spell book.
If the culture doesn't work or anything about the charcter is not cool; please let me know.

She would work. I am still seeing who is interested and so on. As I would prefer to have five players, and I have not talked to Toni or anyone else about getting a session here or elsewhere.

Re: BECMI/RC Sandbox game?
What rules will we be using precisely? BECMI or RC? Will we be using special manouvers, weapon masteries, etc? What are starting spells rules and how do we generate ability scores?
Yes, my inquiring mind wants to know.

4d6 drop the lowest for scores. And I will go into more detail once I talk to make sure I can get a slot on Unseen Servant.

Just FYI, there is unlimited room here at these boards for more games. All I need to know is the name of your campaign, and I'll create for forum and you can start posting.Distorted Humor wrote:4d6 drop the lowest for scores. Hmm, Guess it was just the dice roller I couldn't use, I never knew Unseen Servant was a forum.

Jester is in the house. I'm interested in playing a Magic User for the game.
