Starting up a Call of Cthulhu campaign
I'd like to run a Call of Cthulhu 5E 1920s campaign. We'll be starting off with adventures out of the core rule book and the book "Cthulhu Classics", including the Shadows of Yog-Sothoth campaign adventure. If we ever get done with that, we'll move on to Horror on the Orient Express or Beyond the Mountains of Madness. I've been sitting on lots of '80s and '90s CoC material for years! (I'll have some conversions to do, since much of my source material is 4E).
Expected posting rate is every day to every other day; beyond that I find pbp campaigns fall apart. Since this is Call of Cthulhu, expect to maintain multiple characters; there'll be deaths, there'll be characters in extended sanitarium stays, and sometimes you'll need to get that character who is a pilot, or a sharpshooter, for a specific mission. But everyone will start out with one and we'll make more as needed.
My ambition is to weave these adventures together and create a cohesive backstory, but I also want to let the story go in the direction the players choose. You'll never be forced to go on an adventure, and heck we might end up with a tale of bootleggers and vigilantes

I would love to play! Been wanting to try Call of Cthulhu for a while now and only chance so far fell through almost as soon as it started.

I haven't played CoC since the first edition. Looking at character sheets online, it doesn't look like it's changed radically. Is that true?

Sure I'd like to join in. CoC brings back classic student memories of Halloween games of Achtung Cthullu in a candle lit cellar and atmospheric dry ice fanned around the room...
I am a bit rules rusty but will pick up quick no doubt.

I'd like to play. I've played a bit of Cthulhu at conventions and am interested in trying something more than a one-shot.
Sometimes this summer I will most likely be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.

I think 1st-4th edition - all done by Sandy Peterson - are very close rules-wise. From 4th to 5th there is some conversion to do, as some of the skills changed a bit, especially for doctors, but moreover more skill points are given out. The game plays the same though.Pulpatoon wrote:I'd like to join.

We finished up the 1st scenario, and now is a great time for someone else to join before we start the 2nd.
