I'd play MCC for sure.
It look s like a great game, but I don't think it quite suits my player group.

Im considering trying to run a MCC game, but it would be a learning process. If you are interested LMK and DONT read the sample adventure in the back of the book! Im also working on changing up an old classic Gamma World adventure as a MCC funnel.

Hoping to run > 5E or 3.5; setting Greyhawk or Midgard. Sometime in late fall, early winter...
Winter is coming...

I would love to play Deadlands. Preferably the Savage World, reloaded version, or the d20 version if that is what someone might be willing to run. (I think you can get the ropes free for the d20 version.)
Anyone else interested? Anyone willing to run a game?

I'd be interested in a game of Boot Hill, Numenera,or Lejendary Adventures.
There are also some cool rules-light free games on 1km1kt; some look pretty good. This for example: http://www.1km1kt.net/rpg/Gothic_Worlds.pdf

I would be up for Boot Hill or possibly a Deadlands game.
Sometimes this summer I will most likely be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.

To run, possibly play: I've been watching The Gifted on FOX, and I'm in the mood for a simple supers game, either FASERIP or something OSR styled likely. Either street-level supers or mutant underground would be good themes but I'd be open to others.
Re: What would you like to play/run? (Interest Catch-all)
I kinda want to run Blueholme. Maybe Barrowmaze in Blueholme?
Re: What would you like to play/run? (Interest Catch-all)
That sounds fun. Would you use the Prentice or Journeymanne ruleset?drpete wrote:I kinda want to run Blueholme. Maybe Barrowmaze in Blueholme?
I guess it doesn't really matter except for monsters, since for a play-by-post you might not get any characters beyond level 3 anyway.
Re: What would you like to play/run? (Interest Catch-all)
I was thinking about it 'cause I was reading the journeymanne rules, but yeah, it would be unlikely to get all the way to castles and stuff. Probably journeymanne with some house rules.Starbeard wrote:That sounds fun. Would you use the Prentice or Journeymanne ruleset?drpete wrote:I kinda want to run Blueholme. My tabletop game is currently running Blueholme Prentice but they are on the verge of transitioning to the Journeyman rules. I would be up for a game.
Re: What would you like to play/run? (Interest Catch-all)
Here are some beginnings of ideas which have been floating around in my head. I might run, or play in one of these, if someone is interested. Let's toss them out and see what sticks.
I've been re-watching the Sharpe's Rifles series again and have started to think about how fun it would be to play in or run a game using similar themes to those movies as well as the Horatio Hornblower series. Perhaps set on a different world, or on an alternate history version of our own. Somewhat realistic in style and not allowing the guns to rule the game. I've also considered using the English Civil Wars as inspiration for such a game. Many of the stories which come out of that conflict put Game of Thrones to shame. The system I have in mind is S&W White Box with several supplements by Barrel Rider Games and an altered equipment list to remove the magic, but keep the swashbuckling fun and the simplicity of OD&D. There are also the Freebooter rules which do the same thing but based directly off of OD&D.
Alternatively, I also have a slight hankering for a sci-fi game using White Star. Make the setting Babylon 5, if even only loosely, and I'd be a happy clam. Alternatively, base it off of the setting of Space 1889 and I'd start grinning from ear to ear.
Alternativly, I have some loose ideas for a Fallout-esque game using WWII Operation White Box and ideas taken from Twilight 2000. Imagine a world where WWII never really ended. Both sides developed The Bomb and used it on each other, then kept fighting over the ashes. Pockets of strange science exist in the cratered wastelands of the world, and the splintered factions still vie for control of vital resources while survivors mostly try to scratch out a living. If I did this one it would be a sandbox with the basic goal of your characters trying to find their way home after being trapped behind enemy lines.

Re: What would you like to play/run? (Interest Catch-all)
Just throwing this out there but I've only done this once before in a FtF setting. How about running a Gladiator type D&D game? Essentially rather than the semi-typical starting setting of a tavern, inn or on the road all players start out in an arena as gladiators all with a similar goal survive and win your freedom. Chances are if I'm running the game this would be in a AD&D 2e setting (the setting/rules I am most familiar with) it's not the most novel idea and lacks a bit of a story line but if you want to start out in a battle not a bad place to start. Adventure can come down the road once you win your freedom, no telling what locals might seek your skills outside of the arena. Who do you fight? No this is not a PvP idea it's players on one side vs random foes could be monsters could be just other fighters but certainly not other players. Think of it like the gladiator movie, the show Spartacus or game of thrones.

Intriguing idea, Ed. I've contemplated attempting something similar myself a long while back.GreyWolfVT wrote:Just throwing this out there but I've only done this once before in a FtF setting. How about running a Gladiator type D&D game?

Gladiator arena definitely sounds like a thrilling setting!
