Boot Hill 2nd Edition (CLOSED)
Looking for interest in Boot Hill 2nd edition game. Actually running through the BH modules. I have one character from a game on another board. We found recruiting to be limited so decided to give this board a try.

Welcome Black Wyvern!

This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.

Re: Boot Hill 2nd Edition
I have been waiting for a good western themed game on here for a long time. I have started off in a few, but so far, every one has fizzled out before we got very far.
I will keep my eye on this thread, hopefully you have better luck with this one.

Thanks Ron!
I have been looking for an excuse to start a game over here.
OGRE MAGE - I hope there is some interest. I love these rules. My second RPG after B/X.

I'd be happy to join a western of any kind! I've never played BH, but I'm glad to try it out. Would I need the rules, or is it close enough to early editions of d&d?

BH isn't like original D&D at all but I will provide you with character creation rules.
Re: Boot Hill 2nd Edition
I am interested, but don't have the rules.

Howdy, I saw a post over at Google Plus about this game and came a runnin'! I have the rules, all three versions actually, but have never actually played.
Re: Boot Hill 2nd Edition
I would be interested as well. Looking forward to some details.

Re: Boot Hill 2nd Edition
Okay that is a lot of interest. I am going to request a thread.
There is no need for rules once I have a thread I have will put up character creation and combat rules, I have a couple house rules but nothing to crazy. 2e doesn't have much beyond that. Everything else is pretty much on the fly.
I have been running this game on a different forum. We have run through BH1-Mad Mesa but have the final gunfight, and only one player left from the original group. I am planning on starting there. There are two factions fighting for control of the small Southwestern town of Mad Mesa. One led by the Russell family has made an association with some big Eastern money and made a play to take over all of the smaller ranches. The smaller ranchers have been organized by the five Kane brothers. The previous party, working for their Uncle Zeke, have found proof of some underhanded dealings by the Russells which has caused them and their hired guns to issue a challenge to the Kane's to meet them at sunup at the Mad Mesa railroad corrals.
Characters will be those that have some interest in the fight but not ranch owners, as we will be forming a "party" and moving away from Mad Mesa after the gunfight. We will either to a modified BH2, move on to BH4 or I will make up something depending on the preferences of the party.

Cool!
It sounds like this is a straight-up western, without any horror or supernatural elements. Is that right? I would be fine either way, for the record, but I wanted to be sure.

Yup! No supernatural elements, beyond what you would see in Longmire anyway. This game is based more on western movies than the historical era so there is always the possibility that a Native American shaman will pop up, but a shaman would be a tool for the referee to tell the story, not a fireball wielding wizard by another name. There certainly won't be any shambling undead or spell casting.

Re: Boot Hill 2nd Edition
I am working on getting the rules up. It may take me a couple days to get things together. I guess if you have questions ask and if you are in let me know and I will add you as soon as I get ready. I will take the first five as I have one from the previous game.
Re: Boot Hill 2nd Edition
This sounds fun. Is there still room for more players?
Re: Boot Hill 2nd Edition
I would like to be in. I can't post in the OOC topic for the game yet. Otherwise all I need is a campaign ID to roll my character.

Re: Boot Hill 2nd Edition
I worked on getting a character creation thread up last night. I will figure out adding players to the thread and getting the dice roller set up tonight and we should be ready to go.
