Laggy Dice Roller

#1 Post by AQuebman »

I'm not sure why but the dice roller has been really really laggy lately. The forums are fine and my internet is fine but randomly the dice roller will just kill itself and then 5 mins later pop back up and let me work.

Just thought i'd report it.

Yes, I'm aware of that. I've contacted the hosting company and they seem to have problems from time to time that make this happen. I want to change the host but there is a server side component that is necessary for the site to work, and the current hosting company was kind enough to install it on the server for me. I'm finding that other companies aren't so willing to do that.

I'd like to see a dice roller that is a bit more "leggy", if you know what I mean.

I'm more of a butt man, but I hear what you're saying.

Hmm, not I, as of right now anyway.
Just did a couple test rolls (and I shouldn't have used the d20 because I got a 16 and a 19 :( ) and it was fine for me.
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.

The issue appears to be sporadic, but has been noted.

ToniXX is in the process of looking for a new host, but he has to a) find a good host that is b) willing to install a server-side application for him.

If anyone has any first-hand experience with a server host they might recommend, please forward that information to ToniXX.

What application is needed? I am currently using Netfirms and have been very happy with them but not sure what their policy is on installing extra apps.

I've found a provider and am going to buy a plan with this this weekend or next week. We'll see how it goes.
