Are there any games that should be archived?

#1 Post by ToniXX »

I'm writing this to ask if there are any games on the forums that are either done or abandoned and should be archived. If you know of one, please post here and I'll move it. I want to keep only active games in the main section. We've added a few new campaigns in the last couple of weeks, so I want to make sure everything stays current.

Thanks in advance.

Hey Greg!

I mentioned this while we were PMing about my newest game being set up but it was likely just missed.

My "Can you help a brother out" game is completed and can be stowed in its proper thread.

Since then, my "Scouring of the Shire" game has also reached its completion.

Both of those can be pulled from the main list.

Also.....

I know that Grog has left the boards and he has a lot of games still on there as well.

What about the ACKS Campaigns? If this is just a record keeping forum, couldn't it be in the archive section? I know Grog had an archived game that he would update, for record, on a regular basis.

Dave's mega-dungeon could probably be moved to the hiatus section until he's ready to come back. I know Dave hopes to bring it back online at some point, but it's been idle since September. :/

Can there a be a fourth category of forums Greg?
Play-by-Post Campaigns
Completed Games
Records Vault Or whatever?
Archived Games

Not sure how easy it would be to pull that off. :)

This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.

Not sure on this one might have to PM Starbeard but looks like Hedge's Adventures in the Realms (5e) hasn't been active since December. I know starbeard is still active on here.

Also not entirely sure but I think Antman9 has sort of disappeared from the boards. Ying Huo Chóng – The Way of Things (Cortex Plus - Firefly) might be another on the list to archive since it's been radio silent since September. Antman hasn't logged in since December 20th.

I think Bloodlines: D&D 5th Ed is also in that same line of likely ready for archival/completion something other than active status. The DM for that game hasn't logged in since September.

Agreed.

I would eventually like to revive this game at some point, but I find that live Skype games, where I prepare content in chunks instead of needing to check in and update daily, is more manageable in my current situation.

These four have been moved... I need to communicate with the other GMs to find out what's going on with their games. Thanks for the input so far.

My Heroes of the Oldhammer Age game should be put in the archive. I may bring it back at some point, but only after thoroughly vetting it and starting again from the ground up. Thanks!

Faolin ended the torchbearer game. Despite our best attempts, Marullus and I couldn't convince keehnelf to take it over. :(

Rhourk's game, Bloodlines: D&D 5th Ed - looks like it hasn't had a new post in almost a year.

It looks like 1/3 of the games on the front page are inactive. :(

Especially when they were good and the players really dug their characters and had fun with it. :(

Some say 'never say never'. I'm fond of that kind of hope as well, even if there's little to no chance of a resurrection spell ever being cast...
