Connection reset
Connection reset
Has anyone else had a problem with getting "connection reset" messages? I've been seeing it quite a lot over the past couple of days or so, and I think it's only happening on here when trying to preview or submit a post.
(Just had another one trying to preview this.)

Re: Connection reset
Yes. Me too.
Then when I hit "submit" again, it goes through the second time.
This just began a few days ago, as you say.

Re: Connection reset
yes constantly for the past few days at the very least. For submitting, previewing and even just trying to load into the games to view a post or go to the next or previous page. Essentially for every activity I attempt I am having to do it twice sometimes more to get it to load as reload is not generally resolving the issue.

Me too, for a couple of days now.
I thought it was just a crummy connection at the hotel I'm in.

Re: Connection reset
I haven't gotten any message, just everytime I try to Submit a post it takes me to a blank page -_- But it usually doesn't even do it on the second try--I often have to copy my post text for safety, go Back, refresh, click Post again and paste then subit--and then it works.

Re: Connection reset
in posting for me it is that google face nearly blank page and under the face it does say connection reset with details under it i click back and click submit again and it works.
I copied the details here:
This webpage is not available
ERR_CONNECTION_RESET
Hide details
The connection to http://www.unseenservant.us was interrupted.
Reload this webpage
Press the reload button to resubmit the data needed to load the page.
Check your Internet connection
Check any cables and reboot any routers, modems, or other network devices you may be using.
Allow Chrome to access the network in your firewall or antivirus settings.
If it is already listed as a program allowed to access the network, try removing it from the list and adding it again.
If you use a proxy server...
Check your proxy settings or contact your network administrator to make sure the proxy server is working. If you don't believe you should be using a proxy server: Go to the Chrome menu > Settings > Show advanced settings... > Change proxy settings... > LAN Settings and deselect "Use a proxy server for your LAN".
oddly enough I have tested and done everything in the suggestions and it appears to only happen for me with the unseenservant website.

Re: Connection reset
I'm noticing it too every now and then. I'm going to contact the host and see what's up. Whatever is causing the problem is out of my control.

Re: Connection reset
This is a test post to see if I get an error.

Re: Connection reset
Another test post. I'm chatting with the host help desk and he said to try to post and see what happens.

I got an error on the previous post.

Re: Connection reset
So it has been determined that the server that hosts the site is under a DDOS attack. I can hopefully resolve this by getting a dedicated IP for the site. I'm going to look into that.

Re: Connection reset
i know the host blocks pings does it also block tracert commands I tried both a ping and a tracert just to see if there was any issues and if it blocks those then i can understand the data i got back. The spam bots are DDOS attacking

Re: Connection reset
When I buy a dedicated IP, it will take 12-24 hours for the DNS info to propagate across the internet. That means that the site will be unavailable for certain periods of time during that window. I'm going to place the order late tonight when traffic is a little lower. So know that this will be happening and don't freak out!ToniXX wrote:So it has been determined that the server that hosts the site is under a DDOS attack. Re: Connection reset
If you tell us the new IP, we could connect directly wile the DNS change propagates.
Re: Connection reset
True. I'll post it as soon as I get it.
Thanks!
